Great food great service
We walked to six or seven restaurants in the area, checking menus, ambience and crowdedness before deciding on the Italian Kitchen Company. It wasn't busy and the hostess seemed pleased we returned from our initial query on menu items. The waiter was prompt, explained a few things and gave us a moment. We ordered wine and because we were starving, our food. My wife's carbonara was brilliant and my chicken parm with a touch of pasta and peppers on the side was delicious. Everything was served hot. The wine list isn't huge but we had a 9 oz glass each (a chianti and a ripaso) which was perfect. The atmosphere is warm, the seating very comfortable and there's enough space between tables that you can't hear conversations near you. The restaurant started to fill up as we were finishing our meal so our timing was perfect. The chef and sous chef work right up front where you come in so you can watch them create if you're sitting close enough. It was a great find for us and would hope to come back next time we're in Vernon.
Totally enjoyed our meal ! Delicious food and lovely service ! We would totally return next time we are in the area.
2 totally different experiences only one week apart. Disappointing.
What a great night!!!! On a Wednesday!
Why haven't I been here before now? A hidden gem in Vernon. Sooooo amazing. Gorgeous atmosphere. Wonderful service. AMAZING food!! 12/10. We will be back!!!
One week later and I'm back to update my review. Last week I gave the Italian Kitchen a 5 star review. This week I'm disappointed to have to change it. I recommended them to several people including my 16 year old son who took his girl friend tonight. His experience was not as favorable as mine unfortunately. Last week when myself and 2 others were there we were given the Pasta Wednesday rate. We each had a pasta dish which included the weekly Ravioli special for $19. My son and his girlfriend were charged full price for their dishes tonight. I called to see if the special on Wednesdays was still taking place and was told that yes it was but the weekly ravioli special isn't included in the special. The individual on the phone did admit that their other dish should've been discounted. He apologized, said he would have to make it up to them next time and hung up. This just doesn't sit right with me. I'm super disappointed that I recommended them and my very hard working 16 year old was cheated out of what was fair. We will NOT be back.
What a great place. I understand this place has a bad rep from previous employees however, they’ve done a great job at changing things. From making fresh pasta in house (since the fall) to the impeccable and friendly service, I highly recommend the locals give the Italian Kitchen another chance. Jordan is a phenomenal guy who provided service that went above and beyond, and the new head chef, Rob, as well as the sous chef, served us delicious pasta. And getting freshly baked garlic knots at the start of service is a bonus!! My only complaint is that there aren’t more people dining in there and experiencing all of these fresh changes for themselves!
My wife and I took our (now 16 yr old) and 2 of her friends for dinner on her birthday lastnight.
It was fantastic! We had pasta all around and it was so fresh . The bread is to die for and definitely recommend getting the 5 cheese add to your pasta(I had the ravioli) Wife and 2 girls had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and the last had the bolognese meatballs spaghetti.
Our waiter was really on point and the hostess was a great back up.
Thank you guys so much for a great night
Food was really bland and the pasta with the mussels had the shells and the shrimp had the tail. Not satisfying at all. Very disappointed. I had the mushroom fettuccine and it tasted like it hadn’t been seasoned.
Great service great food great atmosphere!
We visited this cafe with the whole family, including small children. They gave children separate pencils and coloring books, which was very nice. We ordered pizza for the children, it was served already cut into small pieces, which is very convenient. For ourselves, we ordered noodles with pieces of steak and grilled steak with potatoes, and broccoli - it was incredibly tasty, especially the garlic sauce and croutons complemented these dishes perfectly. They also served garlic buns, they are incredibly soft and well baked. And we were also pleasantly surprised by the tea, very tasty. We were very pleased with the food. The prices are great, it's worth it.
This is a lovely Italian restaurant on the main downtown strip near the Vernon Library. The atmosphere and music taken me back to Italy with a relaxed mello ambiance. It is fantastic. This is a great spot for a romantic meal and many couples came in during our time there. I ordered an 9 oz Italian red wine by the glass which works out to 2 glasses. My husband had a coffee which he had without cream (unusual for him) and stated it was “fantastic”. After we ordered our meals, they presented us with fresh homemade bread which was drool worthy. I ordered the lasagna which you could tell instantly was made fresh with fresh noodles and was extremely tasty. My husband ordered the Seafood cioppino which was a combination of scallops, shrimp, and mussels and risotto and red sauce cooked to perfection. Finally, no Italian meal is complete without a dessert of which we choose the Italian classic tiramisu. We could hear the chefs whipping the cream in the kitchen. It came topped with fresh whipped cream, strawberries and raspberries. The taste of the tiramisu was devine. Smooth creamy with just the right amount of flavour. Like the rest of the meal, another dish made perfectly. The servers kept checking in on us at just the right moments. Price was extremely reasonable at at around $100/2 including drinks and a dessert. We spent just over 1.5 hours relaxing and enjoying our meal. Overall, we would come back and try the other dishes but could see ourselves just popping in for the awesome coffee and dessert. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was so gross I couldn't even eat it, tasted like ketchup and milk with overcooked seafood .. I told the waitress the food was gross , she took my plate and gave me the bill .. we spent $150 on two meals and ended up going to another restaurant to get some food.. also the house wine taste like a $10 wine on the clearance shelf.
Definitely not worth the money.
Calamari was good. Feta feta dish had uncooked onions and broccoli. Tasteless.
Best italian in Vernon
So impressed. I arranged a party of 20 with the manager Jordan and the team executed our event flawlessly. Everyone had a great experience. Food, ambiance and service was perfect.
Atmosphere was great, bread sticks went well with the pre dinner drinks.Haven’t been for quite some time.Portions in general have been moderated. Lasagna and Ravioli dishes were well received. Steak sandwich was on a toasted pc of baguette. Steak was good but hard to eat as a steak sandwich. The Manzo Funghi recipe has changed drastically. It used to be a saucy creamy dish with your choice of noodle, topped with fresh Parmesan and ground pepper. This version was a fettuccine noodle in marinara sauce that was a a bit dry and had a stronger tomato based flavour to the sauce. Not near as savoury? I had looked forward to the original recipe. Desserts were on point.
