It’s not the same bakery as it used to be. The apple buns nearly have 0 apples, poppy seed buns have 0 poppy seeds and bread is tasty grouse. So sad. It’s used to be a very good bakery. Not anymore.

I love this place! Incredible cinnamon buns and apple fritters, great shareable portion sizes and extremely tasty when fresh. Best time to go is just after 8am, can stop by for donuts at around 9. Will visit again when back in Vernon!

This was my first time at okanagan bake house and i will definitely be coming back! The atmosphere is very welcoming and smells amazing. I tried a cinnamon bun and bought a loaf of german rye bread, both were delicious and high quality. I absolutely recommend.

Two weeks ago my friend picked up cinnamon buns with cream cheese. We have had them in the past and they were delicious. Well they were almost flavourless and whatever was on the top NOT cream cheese. Very disappointing ☹️

Although I live over an hour's drive away from Vernon, whenever I do get there, I make sure to stock up on their wonderful German rye bread. It's not the cheapest bread available but it is the closest you'll get to real rye European bread and the loaves are large. I find they also hold up nicely even after freezing. Service is always efficient and helpful. Since losing our own German bakery (again, after another closed down years before) in December of last year, this is hopefully not going to happen to this bakery. Their buns are nice too. Please support this local gem.

This is a great small bakery. Went to get a loaf of Swiss rye to make Rueben sandwhiches. Bread was very very good. Freshly baked. Cream Horns are huge, chocolate dipped and delicious. Went back today and bought a loaf of Italian bread and notice they had just a few fruit cream danish left, one donut and cream horns sold out. Get there early for the best selection . Quality of their products is exceptional and well worth the price.
I frequent the Okanagan Bake House almost weekly for their awesome bread (not oversalted), great donuts and cakes and occasstionally their lunch sandwiches which are made fresh everyday. Highly recommend this gem of a bakery in Vernon. Highest Recommendation Dieter Spinners Sound

The bread was not great, the price was very high, and the woman working there was very rude and confrontational with my wife. When I approached, and, with a remarkable amount of restraint, explained that my wife's first language is not English and felt bad from her treatment, she dodged an apology by saying "we're busy, it's one customer after another after another, I don't have time".
So obviously, we won't be back, and we are avoiding their products in the grocery store.
