Raku Rice and Noodle Bar is a little hole in the wall kind of restaurant in downtown Vernon that you might walk past and be curious about, but the ramen is incredible and it needs to be experienced. I called this shop our ‘depression ramen spot,’ because if you are feeling blue, a big steaming bowl of spicy, savoury, comforting ramen with it’s incredible broth can change your bad day into a much better one.
This is the best ramen that I have ever had and I am a connoisseur of Japanese food, as I cook a lot of Japanese food at home and have been to Japan. This ramen is next level and so authentic that I was shocked that Vernon could have a place like this. I always go for the super ramen (the sukiyaki beef and chasu pork in it is absolutely delicious) and I would suggest that you get the garlic chilli oil on the side, as you can add as much or as little as you like.
If you want authentic, legitimate, Japanese ramen check them out!
Parking: Park around the corner from the Main Street, as parking is limited.

I ordered ramen takeout yesterday and the soup was very salty.
I've been here twice and both times felt the broth was overwhelmingly salty.

They really need to add some value to the ramen dishes. The bowl only had two thin slices of small chashu pork which was very disappointing. That is my only issue.
The service was quick, my waitress was very friendly and always smiling. The tonkotsu broth is delicious, very creamy and savory.
Please though, add more chashu. For $15, I would be much more satisfied at Ramen Arashi in Kelowna.

I was really excited on my way to there, cause my friend said it’s a really good place for ramen. But was really disappointed ☹️. We been waiting for over 30 mins while there’s only two tables when we came in. It looks really good, however the broth has no taste, noodles ALL stick together. NOBODY cares our table AT ALL, but they do care about the table beside us. Question? Is that because we are Asian? I am not the person always bring this problem, but I do feel something in this restaurant. ??? First and last time there.

Pretty good I guess. I’m not a huge fan of ramen anyway. The soup broth is pretty good, the noodles taste like they are straight out of a ramen noodle pack. Pretty expensive for a bowl of Ramen though.

Authentic, delicious and reasonably priced Japanese ramen restaurant. Great variety to choose from on the menu. The ramen noodles I had was good as any I have had in Japan or Vancouver where I live. Rumi was our waitress. She was delightful. Highly recommend this gem in Vernon

they made some good food and cooked it up fast. i got some good ramen! just one tip is that make sure you order with less salt because it can get a bit salty sometimes. but otherwise the pricing was affordable especially during inflation times. i would recommend this place to anyone who wanted some actually good ramen
Vegetarian options: i’m vegetarian and this was a reallly good bite since there was quite a bit of veggie options.
Dietary restrictions: when i asked less salt they gave less salt, when i asked no mushrooms they gave me no mushrooms. i think this place is pretty good for this not gonna lie.
Parking: depends on the day but you can only park on the street because it’s right down town
Kid-friendliness: i feel that it was a good atmosphere for kids, i saw kids in there when i went and they were happily munching on some ramen
