Actually, the Boarding Room is one block north of where it's shown on the map, at the corner of 32nd Ave (two blocks north of Nolan's Pharmacy). Otherwise I agree with the last review, great place for gamers. Original owner retired, new owner seems to be doing a great job!

A wonderful spot for families and friends! The Café has a huge selection of games for any occasion, plus a great variety of baked goods and drinks to enjoy while you play. You can also purchase games to take home. Great location and a fun, welcoming atmosphere — perfect for a cozy afternoon or game night out.

Beautifully cozy little café. I might just have to become a regular here. I ordered a Chai Latte and it is AMAZING highly recommend. The lady at the register has the cutest smile and she brought my order right over to me so is didn't have to leave my cozy little spot I found in a comfortable reclining chair. I love this chair and am tempted to buy it lol. I feel comfortable staying here for a long period of time to crochet as it is literally made for people to stay and play board games. There's a really comfy loveseat couch too. I hate when places make seating uncomfortable so people don't stay long. And the VIBES! I plan to come here with my boyfriend for a date.

Great place to hang out, visit or play board games you always wanted to try before you buy. They also sell a bunch of board games. The tumeric latte is delicious! Also had the best scone I ever had..light fluffy and moist! No butter needed. None of those words describe any other scone I ever tried. 😊 thank you

I had an absolutely amazing time! The snacks were delicious and the service was just amazing. I didn't get the girls name, but she was absolutely fantastic, kind, bubbly, and overall so good to me and my friend, she made the experience truly wonderful. 10/10 time

I can’t put into words how much I love The Boarding House Café. It’s not just the welcoming vibe, the perfectly selected music, or the cozy atmosphere (though all of that is spot-on)—it’s the amazing woman behind it all who makes this café unforgettable.
The owner is one of the kindest, most genuine souls you’ll ever meet. She’s not just a talented baker and barista—she’s the heart of this place. Every time I’ve walked in, she’s made me feel completely accepted, never like an outsider. There’s a warmth here you can’t fake. She’s the kind of person who makes the world better just by being in it.
And don’t even get me started on the baked goods—her scones are to die for. Perfect texture, just the right amount of sweetness, they hit that homey, fresh-baked comfort feeling every single time.
But the crown jewel? Her cheesecake. Specifically, I just had the KitKat Chocolate Cheesecake, and wow—what’s normally a dessert that can easily become too rich or overpowering was perfectly balanced. The flavors were layered beautifully, sweet but never too much, indulgent but light enough that I enjoyed every single bite without feeling weighed down. Every aspect of that cake was crafted to perfection.
It’s rare to find a place where the food, the atmosphere, and the people all come together so seamlessly—but this is that place.
I recommend The Boarding House Café to absolutely everyone. Some people out there genuinely deserve all the good things life has to offer—and the owner of this café is one of them. She’s built something special here, and I’ll keep spreading the word every chance I get.
