The experience is good if you have never been in the building.
Prices are affordable, food quality is not the best, the service I guess depends on who you get, our waitress was an older lady with little patience who rolled eyes several times when my senior friend was slow ordering their dishes.

Imagine if the government ran a restaurant. Well, this is exactly what you would get.
Located in the basement of the government building, the journey to the dining room takes you past broken photocopiers, fire extinguishers and through a messy old loading dock.
The dining room definitely feels like you’re in a basement. It’s very old-fashioned. The servers are tired and their faded black uniforms are tired too. And their masks (??).
I felt like I was at school lunches, but with less flavour. The beef goulash was bland, colorless, and tasteless. The tuna salad had the tiniest portion of tuna paired with an enormous pile of overdressed arugula. I couldn’t eat the arugula there was so much dressing on it.
I had a bad feeling while I was in the restaurant - similar to the feeling I get when I pay my taxes. There was a feeling of relief when I was finished the meal. Hopefully I don’t need to do it again next year.

Old school decor, fantastic service. Fun experience walking through the inner workings of the parliament building to this hidden gem. Grilled cinnamon bun and scones were great.

I wondered if this dining room is really open to public as some suggested. After trying to call the reservation number listed on the website for 4 times on 4 different days without success (no one answered the phone) we finally decided to try our luck on a Monday at noon time during last day visiting Victoria. We were turned away at the entrance as there is a sign clearly states Reservation Only. How can one make a reservation when no one is attending the reservation line? Also, I suggest to update the website from Reservation recommended to Reservation required, as that is what it is.

I made a reservation before visiting. The atmosphere was really nice with a charming, classic vibe, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was decent — I’d rate it about 7 out of 10. The main dish was tasty, but the dessert was a bit underwhelming.

Very enjoyable experience throughout. The stately decor, ambience, along with the professionalism and warmth of the staff made it a very memorable meal.
The washroom even retained an example of the nonsensical dual faucet British sink amongst the modern no touch ones.
Food wasn’t some top notch dining experience, but quite adequate for the venue and not pricey.
Note that this place is actually kids-friendly with available crayons and paper, as well as chicken tenders.
I highly recommend booking a meal here.

Immense History to be enjoyed in here. The menu is an appropriate selection to accommodate most any diet/palate. Our waitress was odd to be very polite, and she made faces at every single order point; however she did her job efficiently, just not very welcoming or nice about it. The food was fresh, well made, and of high quality. Great experience due in large part to sitting with members of government and all of the history and photos in there. The security procedure is quick and easy.

Fine dining with Great food and service but at an affordable price.
All you need to do is call to make reservations. Open Monday-Friday.
Well, honestly food is only very so so (we had Steak, Steak sandwich, Italian sausage penne - not even remembered to take photos of them😅)
Come here maybe just for the experience of having lunch inside the Parliament building.
