From when you first enter & you smell the fresh herbs to when you sit down around the table on super comfortable chairs/couches. WOW. The staff were attentive, personal and yet not in your zone too much. Helpful with advice on the food and menu. 10/10. The food was on another planet. We had three dishes in total - one appy and two mains. Cooked perfectly, extremely fresh flavours and large portions. The naan bread… just wow. Delish! Will be coming back and telling everyone about this. They deserve a line out the door.”

“This was the second year in a row we had my sons bday party at this McDonald's. Each year we show up grab a table and just have our own balloons at the table and get the kids settled there. It was easy each year to grab a large table. We buy happy meals for the 6 kids we have there and then send them off to play in the awesome playolace. Cath helped us with this large order and then brought it all out with party hats for the kids. As soon as we arrived the manager Cath and her team approach us and ask if they can do anything for us to help. They then ask if they can make things special for our child by giving him a decorated muffins with a candle, take the kiddos to make their own mini cream cones and to top it all of the entire staff and kitchen break out into happy birthday for our little guy. I have never felt so touched by a restaurant and their team anywhere, let alone a McDonald's. This location and it's team are an absolute gem! All the kids were so happy and excited. I teared up from all the love, care and kindness of this staff. Cath is a very special person, a ray of light everytime we see her. She made sure this day absolutely special for me and my family. We didn't book the party room, but we were still important to them. Thank you so very much to you and your entire team Cath! ♥️”

“I would like to say that Hamsa working at the Goldstream Village (Langford BC) Tim Horton’s outlet I had occasion to sit watching him produce his orders in a timely and efficient manner, but more than that he had outstanding customer service skills with each and every person he came in contact with. During a time when it is difficult to get valuable employee’s who are an asset to the Tim Horton’s brand name, it was gratifying to see that this outlet had hired an exemplary employee. It was interesting to see that there were other employee’s “goofing around” but this didn’t distract Hamsa from doing his job. Again I appreciate the outstanding service Hamsa is providing at this outlet.”

Its in a very sketchy area by Pandora Avenue; however, this McDonald's is very clean on the inside and very quiet. Washrooms locked for safety.

One customer I saw reading a book, that's how quiet it can get. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Only thing holding this McDonald's back is literally the bad neighborhood area it's in.”

“I was visiting from the mainland and did some research to find a good coffee spot and let me tell you, Union Specific did NOT disappoint. My iced latte was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had, the quality of the coffee is just pure magic.

On top of that, I’m a huge BLT lover, and this place has the best BLT I’ve ever had. The ingredients are fresh, the bread perfectly toasted, and every bite was incredible. Their sweets are divine too, I had the berry white chocolate scone and it was absolutely delicious.

I was so excited to come back the next day for another coffee and BLT, but I realized they’re closed on Sundays 😭. Ever since then, I’ve been planning my next trip just so I could visit twice this time. Unfortunately, because they close early and my ferry was late, I didn’t make it on Friday as I’d hoped. My only wish is that they were open later and on Sundays so I could selfishly enjoy it even more!

They will always be my first stop whenever I visit Victoria. I can’t recommend Union Specific enough if you love coffee, BLTs, or just amazing treats, you need to go.”

We highly recommend the seafood tower as a way to taste through some of the menu. The grilled octopus rivalled what we have eaten in Italy. The pork belly was cooked to perfection. The wine list is extensive and expertly curated.”

“This is one of Victoria's highlights. Bunny's is a hidden gem of a cafe and one of the few places to get a decent latte, flat white, or cappuccino. The food is good, but the atmosphere is cozy and community-oriented. The best way to describe Bunny's is that it's like coming back home for the first time. We're originally from Ontario, and stepping into Bunnie's, it was a quality cafe experience without any of the pretentiousness downtown. Just make sure you have some time to kill because once you get to the cafe, you won't want to leave, and they do close early.”

When they state porkbelly and you get shaved roast porkbelly that is not seasoned and because it is thinner than their bacon super chewy and distracts from the other flavours of the dish which are okay. If they rubbed it and braised the belly and cut proper thick slices for porkbelly it would do the oppisite and add to the dish 🥲.”

“I am posting an amendment to my previous review because I continue to have such a great experience at the Keg and it seems that negative reviews always get posted over positive ones.
I ate a meal with my family on Sunday night and once again the experience was outstanding.
As I said below, I have eaten at The Keg a LOT and I don't review it every time because I take it for granted.
It is my favourite restaurant because they NEVER let me down.
I can't send multiple reviews for the same place, but I feel I need to.
It is not surprising that The Fort Street and Quadra Kegs have been in business for 40 years!

I Have eaten at the Fort Street Keg in Victoria often for the last 30years. I very rarely write reviews, however I felt compelled this time because how fantastic it consistently is. My family and I dined last Thursday and everything about the experience was excellent. My entire families meals were exceptional. The service was excellent (they made us feel so welcome and spoiled)! My steak was perfect, my sides were perfect, my desert was perfect! I NEVER have had a bad experience at the Keg and I have eaten there more than I'd like to admit!! I can not say enough good things about this restaurant and I look forward to my next meal!! Thank you to all the staff for making my experiences over the years consistently outstanding!!”

We ordered the steak and seafood platter for 2. food was fabulous, too much for us to eat. My only issue would have been i had to ask for ice water.”

“You’re insured to have a wonderful experience at this establishment! Set in an old bank building the decor was beautiful and timeless. The overall atmosphere was perfect for our first meal upon arrival in Victoria.
We ordered the fish and chips and the green Goddess salad to share. Everything was delicious, fish was flaky on the inside and just the perfect amount of crunch from the breading. The ratio of fish:bread was high! Not too heavy on the breading. The chips were perfectly cooked. The green goddess salad was a perfect compliment to the fish and chips, crunchy and bright was good acid to cut through some of fried grease of the other dish.
And the peach cider completed the meal and made it feel like springtime.”

We also tried the Lamb Consumme which was rich and flavourful with lots of meat and chick peas finished with lime and cilantro. Amazing, friendly staff. A perfect meal to take to the park. Excellent paired with Horritos lime soda from the convenience store.”

“I wanted to give a huge shout out to Torch Song Cafe! My soon to be daughter in law had an appointment at the White Peony next door. We arrived a little early so decided to grab a hot drink and a muffin beforehand. We had just received our drinks when the bridal shop opened so we didn’t have time to finish. When we left (successfully after buying a wedding dress) we were offered a re-make of our drinks “to-go” by the lovely woman who had served us at the cafe. It was such a thoughtful gesture. By the way, if you like a good bran and date muffin, they have the BEST!”
