“Ox King is mine and my friends go to dinner spot. The staff are friendly, but the food.. out of this world. We have never been disappointed by a meal, and we are regulars. The Juicy pork Xiang Bao is my favourite snack of all time!! A must try ?“
“The food was so good! Highly recommended! Very well serviced! Very traditional taste ! just home! Located in heart of Victoria Chinatown! So much better than Vancouver China town. I feel shameful for Vancouver city how they manage our Chinatown!“
“My wife and I saw this restaurant recommended by Victoria Now and it didn't disappoint. The service was timely, and the food was amazing! Shrimp spring rolls were the best we'd had. We will definitely come back next time we're in town.“
“The meal is very delicious. Because I am from Taishan, I love the taste of shrimp paste. I ordered steamed pork with shrimp paste and stewed soup, braised abalone chicken, stir-fried vegetables with shrimp paste, and cucumber salad. In summary, there are few restaurants that can taste it. Making the steamed dishes so delicious makes me feel like I'm home, and I will definitely come back.“
“Ordered takeout earlier this week from here. Both combo for 1 A and combo for 1 B, which were good portions. The chow mein was delicious. However my beef and broccoli was not as good as I expected. I have read on here that it is much better when dining in, so I will have to try that.“
“This is home cooking style diner at it finest. Not fancy, simply good food, fair prices. We went at lunch as we were visiting my son who works close by. This place is hopping. A lot of people order ahead and pick up. There was a constant stream of people. We managed to snag a table. The Wonton soup amazing with good portions of ingredients in it. We also had cheese burgers that were homemade and loved the crispy crinkle cut fries. The regular blue collar clientele and the people who run the place interact like family. Was a cozy, delicious experience.“
“This place is an absolute must when in Victoria. I was skeptical as it doesn’t look like much from the outside but the food is absolutely delicious (wonton soup and the dumplings along with the cured beef were my personal favourites) and the general vibe of the restaurant is just so relaxing. Me and my brother came here twice over our two day vacation and loved it both times.“
“Small venue , make sure your entire group is present, or you won't be seated.Usually, busy.Food prepared as orders come in by chefs working the kitchen. You can see whipping up dishes. Working their Woks. LolWe came for the Bao.Tried Vietnamese coffee , liked it , be aware condensed milk is very sweet.“
“Amazing food, great service, generous hosts and social and fun atmosphere to relax in while having a satisfying and delicious meal.Basically everything you'd expect from a 5 star restaurant. Thank you to all working at Panda. Hope to be back soon.“
“I’m Chinese and this is easily the best Chinese restaurant on the island. So happy I found this gem! The owner is super nice and he makes his own noodles fresh in house. I recommend the beef noodles, dumplings, the eggplant dish and the amazing savory pancakes! The meatballs vermicelli soup from here is my absolute favorite, it’s so delicious and it’s not on the main menu so ask for that when you order. Can’t wait to come back to try the roast duck. Give this place a try and you won’t regret it“
“New chinese restaurant in town, my family has been going and doing lots of pickup lately. Has a well rounded menu, lots to choose from. Has some more traditional Chinese dishes rather then western style Chinese food (yes they have sweet n sour etc). Nice and clean inside, pretty epic fish tank at the front (not on the menu). Highly recommend this place.“
“A serendipitous find for us this morning as the place we were going to go was closed. Looked these folks up and between the rating and the affordability we decided to try it. It did not disappoint. Quaint little diner feel. And the food was amazing. We all had the breakfast sandwich. Home cooked on the spot with some fantastic hash browns (the potato kind). With a coffee, it was under $15! Forget the big name breakfast places and try this one.“
“Wow and again Wow ! Did I transport back in time to the glory days of "Chinese Food" . So delicious ! I highly recommend. My Atmosphere 5 star was based on what I saw as I picked up my take out , but the dining area did look immaculately clean, but keep in mind it is a retired Tim Hortons , not the fancy dining experience the Original Sam Pan in Saanich Center .“
“Great restaurant, I have been going to this grass roots restaurant for over 10 years. I try to go back to this restaurant every time I go back to Victoria.Service is great, owner still remembers me even I moved away 8 years agoGreat food as always still taste the same all these years. The spicy beef is a cold dish, well marinated, and sauce is super flavourful.Spicy fish hot pot is super tasty. Fish cooked just right.Green beans were super tasty as wellThis place is nothing fancy, grass roots mom and pop restaurant, which is awesome for bringing close friends to have a great timeParking: Behind the restaurant“
“Best chinese food I have ever had! Been a resident of the lower mainland my entire life and been through a lot of Chinese places - none of them come close to Rainbow!Lemon chicken was well cooked and had an excellent crunch. The lemon sauce isn't thin like other places and really packs a flavourful punch.Beef & Broccoli was perfection - the broccoli was so great. Most times it kinda gets left on the plate - not this time! The portion sizes of some dishes are a bit smaller than what some folks may expect - but the quality is absolutely there. Given the current state of restaurants/inflation I still feel the price point reflects what you get. I absolutely recommend coming here and giving the restaurant a try.“
“Delicious, fresh, hot, friendly and a longtime local staple Chinese family restaurant. We have been coming here for years. Many locals do as well. Bless their wonderful restaurant. ✨??? ???????Vegetarian options: ManyParking: On the street out front or around back.Kid-friendliness: Family owned and operatedWheelchair accessibility: Street level entrance with take out window“
“We had the BEST Chinese food that I’ve ever had in Victoria, it was just so DELICIOUS!!! The service was excellent, very friendly and attentive! There were 6 of us tonight and everyone said the same thing, just loved the food!!The restaurant was very clean too, we are definitely going back there!!!! Thankyou Sun Wah staff for making our dining experience so special!!Sincerely,C. Phillips“
“Good View Chinese food has been our go-to since we moved here, and the consistently fantastic experiences keep us coming back. The place is always busy with happy customers, a true testament to the quality of their food. Make sure you try their unbeatable Wor Wonton Soup and tofu dishes ?.“
“We've been coming here for a few months now. Their dim sum is fresh and good quality. Their dinner options are also tasty and reasonably priced. I was told the chef changed a few months ago, which could explain their lower rating on here, but I highly recommend it!“
“We ate seafood fired rice, sour and sweer sauce fish and tofu stired w vegetables. 2 dishes are good but the sauce of the fish is too sour that I just ate the fish only. In general, we enjoyed the meal, will come back and hope that the chef can cook that fish less source but not too sweet.“
“One of the best Chinese restaurants in Vic. We absolutely love coming here. Food is amazing, service is friendly and everything comes out fast. Great value, everything tastes great. We love the sweet and sour pork and the pan fried soy sauce noodles with beef. A must try!“
“I was hesitant at first, the area is in transition and the main building was a tired 1970’s strip mall across from a graffiti plaster shuttered mall of similar age but less fortunate. Alongside a laundromat, dog grooming studio and an ice cream shop here sat the Marble Arch Fish and Chips. As it turned out it was just what I was looking for. A mom and pop restaurant that has been in business for over 16 years. Nothing fancy but clean and authentic. These places are few and far between. I ordered two pieces of cod and chips, the portions were large and the chips hand cut. Typical battered fish not greasy and tasted very good. The price was about the same as a White Spot but the portions were larger. Cash only here at this retro restaurant. Various combo Chinese meals advertised on hand written sign. I would rather spend my money on a family operated restaurant than a corporate restaurant anytime. Thanks for the friendly service and nostalgia.“
“Sooooo.....first time ordering and eating after hearing good things about the place. And we just kept forgetting to order there, and would drop by QF and get their takeout, which is ok... BUT then we finally did it! We order from the mysterious Asian Noodle House....AND it was VERY good. The chow mein noodles were almost perfect (I mean who's perfect right?) And the teriyaki chicken had LOTs of chicken and the veggies were tender with a bit of crisp to them which is great. The wonton was great but just throw in some green onion for colour otherwise very tasty. Oh and lest I forget, the dinner for 2 should be called Dinner for 2 Nights! Lots of food, and we ate alot. So thank you ANH for the sneak attack food which was a 5/5!“
“I was really impressed by this ManchuWoK location, staff who served me was really polite and professional. The portions of the items were decent sized and seemed good value for the $ they charge, food tasted great and fresh. Really impressive and highly recommended!“
“I never leave reviews but felt compelled because the wonton soup with pork wontons is PHENOMENAL. The best I have ever tasted. Sweet and sour chicken balls are always a classic, but good nonetheless. I was quite disappointed by the honey garlic chicken and the vegetable chow mein, as they were quite bland and nothing to run home about.. however, the wonton soup truly made up for it. Overall enjoyable and would order from here again simply for the soup!“
“Prompt service. Dated interior but that's okay. All food items were very good except for the fried rice.Very good value for the money. The dinner for four can comfortably feed 5 people or make for several lunches.I missed having the 4 spring rolls that other places usually include with the dinner for four special.“
“Favourite spot in Victoria for takeout Chinese food, the quality is good and consistent and the owners are friendly with great customer service. Not sure what that 1 star is on about but they clearly don’t know what they’re talking about.“
“I'm giving these guys a 5. They deserve better than under 4 stars. I'll be honest the building outside is unappealing but the Asian food I had was delicious! Ginger beef, not too chewy like many make it, an excellent vegetable crispy noodle dish and a special fried rice. I wish the menu was bigger but thought prices were reasonable and the food..excellent!“
“I'll preface this by saying I've lived in Sandspit, Campbell River, Nanaimo, Victoria, Fort Nelson, Dawson Creek and Kamloops all for more than 3 years. In each town I've find the best Chinese food. I'm now back in Victoria for good and I've been looking my 'my place'.Ive found it, and im now a die-hard fan. The flavor is tops, like too good. The staff are amazing. The portions are faaat and the prices are sliiiim.I appreciate what you guys have created so much, and from talking to staff it's been this way since 1984.Truly a Victoria ?Thank you so much!“
“I was walking on a winter day in victoria when I found Fan Tan Café. I loved the warmth of the restaurant! I ordered a Pad Thai with shrimp after the suggestion of the server, a nice spanish lady who kindly resolved all of my questions. It was definitely the best option, a delicious and generous plate came to my table and the Jasmine tea with the fortune cookie at the end made my experience even better. I'll come back to try the wonton soup. The best chinese food in chinstown's heart!! Totally recommend ❤️“
“Our family had a fantastic experience! Jasmine assisted with our order for a group of 25 people, delivery, menu items and quantitiies on a busy stat holiday weekend. Everyone raved about the quality of the food and variety, it was delivered right on time. Highly recommend J&J Wonton Noodle House - ask for Jasimne!Vegetarian options: All vegetarians in our group were overjoyed with the number of dishes, taste and variety included with our order!“
“I was there yesterday around lunchtime for takeout, I asked for 6 BBQ Pork Buns, paid then got a box and left, while back home opened the box I found something else instead, see pictures. it’s too far for me to go back for exchange. That’s okay.“
“First time going and will be bringing any friends and family I can next time we go, nicest owners I have ever met. They made us extra amounts of almost everything and it’s the best wonton soup I’ve ever had same with the spring rolls perfect beyond perfect and the bubble tea is only 5$ and was delicious couldn’t say a single bad thing about this place seriously love the owners and will most definitely be coming back without a doubtVegetarian options: My girlfriend is a vegetarian and I ate more of her food then anything the tempura was amazingDietary restrictions: Options for anyone and everyone huge menu of endless foodKid-friendliness: So many little things to get lost looking at and the longer you’re there the more you notice, every chair has something painted on it and different names like hairy potter or teachers pet, staff are so friendly and funnyWheelchair accessibility: It’s a ground floor restaurant but also has a upstairs seating area“
