“We were up visiting and needed to kill a little time before check-in, so we thought we would grab a bite at the pub downstairs. The food was delicious but the service was even better. Our waitress, Kate (sp?), provided exceptional service. She was affable, attentive, and very accommodating. One member of our party has significant dietary restrictions, but Kate and the kitchen staff went above and beyond to make sure that she could was able to get her food as well.“

“We had the pleasure of eating at Four Mile Brew Pub on Sep 2nd, 2024. We were visiting Victoria on a Cruise Ship and a local couple picked this establishment for lunch along with another local couple. The food and service were outstanding, and the building is beautiful inside and out. We ate in the pub area and really enjoyed the experience. The manager really came thru, though. When paying a card case dropped to the ground and we didn't notice it. The manager found it, and seeing a California phone number called and got the house sitter who gave the Cruise Ship information, and then let us know. The manager dispatched an employee to return the card case. The house sitter let us know and we were able to talk to the manager and since the employee was on the way, we were able to meet him and retrieve the case. High praise to the staff! Thanks!“

“I came here to watch the Canada vs. Switzerland FIFA World Cup match, and it turned out to be a memorable experience.

What impressed me the most was the building itself. It’s hard to believe you’re dining inside a place that served as a bank for more than a century. The historic architecture has been beautifully preserved, with soaring ceilings, elegant details, and a second-floor balcony overlooking the stage, where live performances are held. The entire space has a unique charm and character that you simply don’t find in modern restaurants. Knowing that this building has such a rich history made the experience even more special.

The food was good, the cocktails were excellent, and the service was good. Combined with the exciting World Cup atmosphere, this was definitely one of the most memorable places I visited in Victoria.“

“Located just around the corner from Victoria's major landmarks this delightful English pub has atmosphere that is only surpassed in greatness by it's food.
I walked into Bartholomew's one afternoon for a pint when I had an hour to kill in downtown Victoria. After browsing their extensive selection of draught beers I settled on a English ale made locally. Though the plan to just have a pint was quickly derailed by the delicious aroma of the food of the patron next to me compelled me to buy their 22$ ultimate burger with a side of salad. The burger was so delicious that I was sufficently impressed to returned that night with my partner for dinner. At dinner I got the toad in a hole (Yorkshire puddings with roast beef, gravy, potatoes, and vegetables) which was remarkable and served rather quickly after ordering.
Overall I will be returning to Bartholomew's and it has secured its place as one of my favorite pubs in Canada.“

“Stopped in off the Galloping Goose Cycling Trail and had an amazing experience. They have bike locks available for use while you eat for some more peace of mind. I got the mac & cheese, it was the perfect pub comfort food and very tasty! Our server, Jessica, was friendly and attentive. Hope to be back someday!“

“Last night, my wife and I stopped by for a glass of wine after dinner and were greeted by such friendly and welcoming staff. We’re new to the area, and this pub may have just become our new favorite spot. Our bartender, Morgan, recommended an excellent Pinot Gris for my wife and provided amazing service throughout our visit. Friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, we’ll definitely be back!“

“Sticky Wicket is an Irish pub in the heart of Victoria that is truly a sports pub. It's easy to get to with decent parking around. Inside they have different rooms, tons of tables, upstairs and outdoors with lots of options. The staff are great, our server was fantastic but the bartender was unfortunately not. The food was good, chicken Parm was delicious. During the day it wasn't packed but at night it gets pretty busy and lots of younger folks. Overall it's a solid place to watch games, but nighttime can be a stretch of you're not used to shoulder to shoulder nights.“

“BBE. Best Birthday Ever. Friends took me to 1550's for beer and wings for my birthday. I love chicken wings and the selection here is awesome and delicious. Keith the owner wished me Happy Birthday and promised NOT to have the crew sing to me!Highly recommended by someone who's been enjoying chicken for five and a half decades and beer for slightly less. Mmmm, Dark Matter Beer!

It's tucked away in a quiet corner near UVic, so it can be a little tricky to find the first time. But that's also what makes it a bit of a hidden gem. There's a courtyard and a pond right inside the restaurant. The vibe feels like a lodge nestled in a scenic spot.

The servers were nice and attentive. The menu was pretty varied too, going beyond basic burgers and sandwiches to include tacos, poke bowls, etc.

Overall it was a pleasant experience, but the food fell short compared to specialty spots. It wasn't bad, just not quite good enough to call delicious either. That said, the plating was very appetizing.

“Had a really good experience at Browns Socialhouse. I ordered the blackened chicken pasta, and it was really good. The nachos were outstanding and probably my favorite part of the meal. Our server was polite and friendly, and the service was great overall. Definitely a place I’d come back to.“

The patties had those perfect, crispy smashed edges while staying incredibly juicy, and the combination of processed cheese, dill pickles, and rehydrated onions on the brioche bun was spot on.“

Another couple in the upper sitting area said that the lady should be serving not sitting on her phone. I was enjoying my burger until my teeth was flossed with a long grey hair in the burger. She didn't offer a new meal just gave me $3 off then went back onto her cell. Didn't finish my meal. Was going to order another beer and buy my friend lunch but decided to go eat at the casino instead. Worst place, never going back.“
