“Ugly Duckling doesn't serve dinner so much as it stages a carefully choreographed argument against mediocrity. Every course in the Spring Tasting Menu felt deliberate, restrained, and confident. In a culinary world increasingly obsessed with spectacle, this menu trusted its ingredients to carry the conversation. A surprisingly rare act of courage.
The Haida Gwaii sablefish was exceptional. Rich and buttery without becoming heavy, it was lifted beautifully by the trout roe and smoke. Every element seemed calibrated to amplify the others rather than compete for attention.
The Stillmeadow Farms Tamworth pork may have been the standout course of the evening. The fermented daikon brought brightness and complexity, while the XO sauce added depth and, not in a bad way, made the pork taste like halibut.
That is a good thing! I dont know how to explain that.
Their duck sauce is kept secret. Let me be clear, if there had been no witnesses I would have licked the plate.

First time there for a special day, we sat at the bar and watched the food being prepared. And oh how incredible that food was! They had a whole pig so much of it was pork based. The carrots, so special, incredible. We had a incredible soup with pig feet and So many more dishes that we sadly gave up!! So here we are eating the last course we brought back cold a day later and it is still so incredibly delicious. The flavors are fun and new while being nostalgic somehow? Im not a foodie idk! Aside from the food, the people working were awesome! Felt welcomed from the moment we opened the door to the moment we rolled out. The curated Playlist only added to the experience of the night and to each incredible bite.

We will absolutely be back for our next anniversary, too bad it is a year away. Eek!“

“Milestones is a regular destination for dining out as we can always count on consistently good food & good service. Just over a week ago, we had Hayden as our server. He was terrific - attentive, personable & knowledgeable about the menu. He made great meal suggestions & was interesting to converse with. We saw him while dining at Milestones tonight which reminded me that I hadn't submitted a review over his stellar service. Kudos to Hayden's excellent service & commendations to his mgmt team!“

“Overall, a great meal. Food was lovely. Rather disappointed with only 2 scallops and 2 shrimp in the linguine. Seafood chowder was great. Steak in the steak sandwich was done to perfection. The baguette/bread under the steak was very crisp and hard to cut, even with the steak knife. But taste was great. And the short rib pasta was excellent. We thank the chef for using a tomato based sauce for someone who is lactose intolerant. Waitress was spot on. We had her move us soon after we got there as there were 4 very noisy gentlemen at the next table. New table was much better, but very close to a speaker and the music was louder than we would have liked, and the bass of the music was turned up far too much. There was just a constant bass beating all the time.“

“BBE. Best Birthday Ever. Friends took me to 1550's for beer and wings for my birthday. I love chicken wings and the selection here is awesome and delicious. Keith the owner wished me Happy Birthday and promised NOT to have the crew sing to me!Highly recommended by someone who's been enjoying chicken for five and a half decades and beer for slightly less. “went for my wife's birthday dinner with the kids, ok, young adults, and had a great time on the patio. because it was a birthday, my wife's meal was discounted by age. plan is now to come there for every birthday for everyone forever. our server was great too“

“I stayed at the hotel here and popped by the restaurant. It didnt appear too exciting but I ended up having a wonderful meal and lovely evening chatting with staff and patrons.

The pork tacos had so much meat and were delicious. We also tried the beat Salad and added salmon. It was cooked perfectly.

The manager was incredibly kind and accommodating. We asked many questions about the menu and drinks and he answered all of them kindly.

It was a very great experience overall. Not a busy spot but some amazing menu items and great service!!“

“This place is a gem...that gets lost amongst the Golfer Clientele....
You do not need to be a golfer to enjoy Bill Mattick's Restaurant.
I love this place to take my book and sit on patio for appies and a cider SOLO, or daytime cocktails with the girls, or an early evening date night with the hubby.
...especially on the patio, in the sunshine with the gorgeous landscaping and sound of birds.
I highly recommend the Crab Dip (curry undertone) with chips, or the Halibut burger and yam fries.

The prices are reasonable.

I love that they have merridale berry 🍓 ciders.

The service is fast, kind and attentive.

“We just had lunch legendary burger and fish and chips at the White spot which we have missed so much. The waitress "Jade" was so amazing, fun, respectful, efficient, just plain happy which certainly cheered us too. Food was excellent and what big pieces of cod too. Thank you, we will be back“

“Good FOOD, refreshing DRINK ORDERS, lively music, and wonderful service.

STICKY WICKET was a pleasant surprise — huge, bi-level, energetic, with upbeat music and big TV screens everywhere. It also has a rooftop bar serving drinks and appetizers, plus a dance area connected to the restaurant, making it perfect for an all-in-one Friday night out.

For FOOD, we ordered the PEPPERCORN SIRLOIN, char-grilled and glazed with garlic, served with veggies and mashed potatoes. For a sirloin steak, it was grilled well, extremely juicy, tender, and flavourful.

The DRY RIBS appetizer — crispy pork with red onion and lemon — was flavourful and generous enough for two.

For DRINK ORDERS, the BLACKBERRY MINT SPRITZER was perfect because I love citrusy, refreshing spritz drinks. The NO KICK MULE was absolutely delicious and captured the real flavour of a mule without the alcohol.

For dessert, the STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE had fresh strawberries on lemon pound cake with icing. The serving was huge and good enough for two.

We also appreciated the security at the doors and, at times, inside the venue. It made us feel secure while enjoying the evening.

Best of all, BRITTANY was pleasant, welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable. She got our orders just right, checked on us from time to time, and recommended the right drinks.

Great FOOD, refreshing DRINK ORDERS, lively energy, secure atmosphere, and excellent service — always a winning combination.
