The Courtney Room Reviews
It presents as a high class restaurant and their service is very good. But…the food was not. Tried the flat iron and the tenderloin. Steaks were very poor quality and tiny. The potatoes Courtney were just frozen hash browns. The “wild” salmon was mediocre and didn’t taste fresh. Didn’t bother with deserts. Wir haben heute super lecker gegessen und der Service war sehr freundlich und funktionierte perfekt!
Condescending attitude of waiter. Acted like he knew more about food and wine than we did, talked down to us, etc. It was revolting to say the least. The Courtney Room offers an exceptional dining experience with a comfortable atmosphere. Guests frequently praise the outstanding staff, including friendly and knowledgeable servers and a helpful sommelier. The restaurant's menu features a variety of delicious dishes, such as the kale Caesar salad, cod, and olive oil chocolate cake. The chef's seasonal tasting menu is highly appreciated, offering creative options like Fanny Bay sun seeker oysters, B.C. sockeye salmon, and Brant Lake wagyu ribeye. Visitors often enjoy celebrating special occasions here, noting the warm atmosphere and small touches that enhance their experience. The service is wonderful, and the desserts are particularly praised, including the huckleberry mousse and seasonal pumpkin pie. The staff is attentive, with the waiter described as a great mix of serious and personable. The service touch of having all the courses arrive together is appreciated. The ambiance is great for a nice dinner, and the local Cabernet is a perfect complement to the delicious food, such as the oysters, beef tenderloin, and duck. Recent visitors also enjoyed the wine list, which features wines from all around the globe, and appreciated the friendly staff and the beautiful dining room and bar. The menu includes dishes like scallops, oysters, risotto, salmon, and Wagyu, with many finding the food delicious, though some noted it could benefit from more refinement. Additionally, guests have praised the Belgian beers, making the restaurant a favorite spot for regular visits. The only minor concern was that the tables can feel a bit clinical or not as cozy when seating four people, but overall, the experience remains excellent.
