“MacKarino's Kitchen at the White Rock Legion is an absolute gem. The vibe is warm and welcoming, friendly service, genuine smiles, and an easygoing atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer. The food is true homestyle cooking, done with care. Every plate feels like it came out of a family kitchen, not off a line. And the fries… they deserve a special mention — easily the best handcut fries on the West Coast. If you’re in White Rock and haven’t eaten at MacKarino’s Kitchen inside the Legion yet, you’re missing out.“

“10/10 experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff who were friendly and attentive throughout my entire dining. The atmosphere is beautifully designed as well. The food and drinks were fresh, flavourful and made with care. I want to thank Mark for recommending the strawberry matcha latte and tiramisu latte, I found both drinks had the perfect amount of sweetness. He was very knowledgeable in the drinks and food as I was looking for something as a light snack and highlighted the BLT, thaimato & basil and the chocolate croissant. I highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for amazing coffee, food and service. Thank you again Mark and we will be back !!“

“I honestly wonder why it took me almost 2 years to try this place when it’s so close to my house! 😍 Tried their pannekoek and a burger, and both were absolutely amazing. The cold-pressed orange juice deserves a special mention too — so fresh and refreshing! 🍊 The food was delicious, and the overall experience made me want to come back and try more. Definitely won’t be waiting another 2 years for my next visit! 😂 Looking forward to exploring more of their pannekoek options. 🥞❤️“

“We had pre-arranged for our group of 25 golfers, to meet at the Derby for our year-end luncheon and awards presentations this past Saturday. Karina did a fantastic job setting aside our seating area and making sure all the food orders were taken in a timely manner. All the meals looked great, guys were impressed with the Bib Mac salad. I personally had the perogies and sausage, another great choice. The efficiency and level of service was impressive. Normally a tough crowd, I have not received a single negative comment from any of our guys. This will be our regular group lunch from now on. Well done Derby.“

“I meant to leave a review earlier. Awhile back I sat at the bar it was busy but the bartender (Nataly I think ) had the section covered. I had ribs with cole slaw and garlic mash which on par with everywhere else I frequent for the same. I really like the menu. its great to see veteran servers who understand customer service in a world where tips are expected in drivethru.“

Our server was absolutely fantastic—so attentive, warm, and thoughtful. The manager also went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. “Great place with a wonderful atmosphere and excellent service!
I ordered the beef carpaccio, and the flavors were on point and beautifully balanced. The fried capers, sun-dried tomatoes, arugula, and pickled onions worked really well together. That said, I think a few small adjustments could elevate the dish even further. Toasted bread or croutons would add a nice textural contrast, a more aged Parmesan would bring greater depth, and most importantly, a drizzle of good olive oil would help bring everything together, as the aioli felt a little too subtle.
The grilled seafood was also excellent, and the seafood itself was cooked perfectly. The vegetables were beautifully prepared, although I felt the dish could benefit from a touch more seasoning, acidity, and sauce. The miso butter cream was delicious but a little too restrained, and a more generous amount would have helped tie the whole dish together.“

“We recently visited for dinner. We tried the salmon as well as the new Tex Mex burger. Really enjoyed the burger and found the fish to be fine.

“Milestones Guildford is very easy to get to and has plenty of parking. We arrived for an early lunch and were seated right away. The staff were friendly and attentive, and our food came out fairly quickly.

I ordered the Southwestern omelette, which was a solid 3.5 stars for me. There wasn’t much sausage in it, and I wasn’t a big fan of the sauce on top, so I’ll try something different next time. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back“

“For the past 20 years or so, we have gone to the White Spot in PoCo to celebrate my nephew’s birthday on July 1st. Although the White Spot does not take reservations on that date, they have gone out of their way to accommodate our party (which has numbered 15 or more). The service has been great, and the food did not disappoint! Kudos to the White Spot for making a great family occasion that much better!“
