“Although I am not exactly the target audience for an English Tea room, I have to say that Butchart far exceeded any expectations! Although we have been to the Gardens many times over the last 4 decades, this is the first time that my wife suggested that we take “High Tea” before our stroll through the amazing gardens... And of course it proved to be a wonderful idea as I relished every bite and sip (we also had the 3-glass “taster” which paired with the food nicely)... I will absolutely be taking tea on our next visit!“

“Visited on a Saturday night. Staff was great to help me reserve for a larger group of 6 people. Our server was lovely and very attentive. We all loved our food, cocktails and some had dessert that was well enjoyed. A tad pricy but I'd say very worth it for a special night out. I had the lamb shank and savoured it and have to say the polenta base that it came on was out of this world...never had anything like that. So good!“

“Takes longer than you would expect because the food is better than you would expect. We have had desert here twice because it was that good even with all the choices in Victoria.After a few minutes of waiting a gentleman waiting near us overheard us complaining and told us it was worth the wait and he was right!I can't wait to try a full dinner.“

“We decided to try the Boom and Batten after walking by it numerous times. A pleasant atmosphere if not a bit noisy as the lunch crowd arrived. We both chose breakfast items for lunch. The standard breakfast of Eggs and Sausage and the Classic Eggs Benedict. Both came with hash browns which were done differently and very tasty. The back bacon on my Benny was very salty and spoiled the dish a bit for me but it was still good. We didn't have any alcohol as prices for wine were pretty high.“

“I always take my friend out for dinner on the birthday and many other restaurants offer a small dessert with a candle on it or a sparkler. I asked and was told they could give me a candle if I bought the dessert. I think I would take others there for their birthday but won't. It would benefit your business if you acknowledged special dates for your customers.“

“Was there for a 60th Birthday upstairs great service appetizers very good selection was provided.Management if you sit by the fireplace the carpet is well worn very lumpy as chairs get hung up and tripping hazard. Besides that minor issue great place to have a private party.“

“I traveled to Victoria for my daughters convocation and finally had the chance to dine at Little Jumbo. It was highly recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. From the wonderful appies to the delicious entrees we were delighted with the quality, service and atmosphere of this little gem. Our server, Travis was friendly and professional. He was easy to speak with and just an overall pleasant individual. Little Jumbo is a winner in my books.“

“Landed and picked up the rental car, found this place minutes from the airport. Wife has celiac and says they have gf options so off we went without much of an expectation.It's a nice little gem for sure. Very reasonably priced and delicious food. “Browns social house! Don’t let the $11 corona throw you off, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is electric. The staff are professional and friendly and the clientele is elite. Make sure to try out the frozen Bellini and don’t be afraid if Dan comes to your table and starts harassing you, he’s harmless. Overall, I’d definitely go back as soon as possible! But again, $11 for a corona?“

“Owner Alan and wait staff Denise made us feel so at home! This pub is charming and being from Irish decent we thoroughly enjoyed the many decorations (especially the garden gnomes). The food was fantastic and the price was right! We will certainly be back??“

“My husband and I had dinner in the restaurant for our anniversary. All of the food was really superb, the wine was great and the server was lovely! We left nicely full and took some dessert home for later. Just a really nice room and a great vibe. Happy we discovered this place so close to home. We will be back :)“

“Fish and chips were really nice as was the soup. The service was very good also. The only gripe I have is that it was very expensive for what it was. $28 for a one piece halibuti and chips?! Three of us went there for lunch, two had soup and we each had a drink with our fish and chips. Our bill, including 18% tip was $160! I think the pricing must be geared towards tourists not locals. Way more expensive than other places nearby.“

“I came to earls on st Patrick’s day. Earls Victoria is in a busy neighborhood with some irish focused bars.Despite the fierce competition, my expectations were blown out of the water. The manager, Iyla, was incredibly accommodating. Our server (Emma G I think?), was incredible. Food and drinks came out in a timely fashion and everything right perfection. I’ll definitely be coming back. What a great experience! Happy St Patrick’s day to all ☘️. On our way out, another server (Emma B?) made sure to check that we had a great experience. We did! “What can I say about Julie, Toni and the staff? Outstanding. I buy food there fairly often, but my favorite is Christmas dinner with ginger carrot soup. Julie won't give me the recipe! :) The food here is fantastic and just the right amount. They work hard to make their food great. I'm glad to support this local business in Sidney.“

“Pricey drinks at the iconic Empress are a must for any tourist, right!?Already had The Empress on my list of places to visit on my one day in Victoria, so I figured why not grab a drink since I assumed there had to be a bar, and thus I found myself at Q.I was already expecting some expensive drinks & the $399 cocktail I saw which I did not order met that expectation. I went with a local beer (Driftwood IPA) while the wife got something a little more fitting the environment, the Empress 75.The IPA was very hoppy, one of the most I've had in awhile so that just makes the beer seem strong, I'm not sure of the actual alcohol content. The cocktail, containing prosecco, was most of what I could taste, but the grapefruit pearls definitely looked (& tasted) nice atop the drink. They also served complimentary Charcoal Popcorn which I'm glad was not stale.The waiter was really nice & attentive. It's a sleek a hotel bar that is more open than a separate closed off room. If you come be sure to ask for a seat by the window so you can have the water view. When I went, what looked like an entrance directly to the bar actually was a sigh directing you on where non hotel guests should enter. So be sure to pay attention to the signs.I don't think I'd come here all the time for drinks if I was a local but it's a good spot for a celebratory drink or something like that.Cheers!“

“Our stay was good, the rooms were nice and clean. The pool and sauna were functional. The only reason for removing one star was the complimentary breakfast deal.There was just one girl who was serving, taking orders for the crowd of around 25-30 people eating there at that time (9:00ish in the morning). And she was really doing a great job but she shouldn't have to do it all. The service was slow even though she was on the run all the time. Bringing our orders took around 25-30 minutes. Food was delicious though. I asked for cream for the coffee and by the time I got the cream the coffee was ice cold.Overall I recommend it but management should take care of the service at the restaurant.Rooms: Neat and cleanFood & drinks: There is a restaurant on the ground floor. Also cotsco is right across the street.“
