“This has been my favourite coffee shop for a long time, and it just got even better now that they’re open on Friday and Saturday evenings.

During the day, it’s my go-to spot for excellent coffee and one of the best breakfast menus around. Everything is consistently fresh, delicious, and made with care, and the staff always make you feel welcome.

The new evening service is fantastic. The food is absolutely delicious, the wine selection is great, and the cocktails are beautifully crafted. The atmosphere transforms into the perfect place to relax with friends, enjoy a date night, or simply unwind after a long week.

It’s rare to find a place that does both breakfast and evening dining so well, but they have nailed it. Highly recommend, whether you’re stopping by for your morning coffee or spending the evening enjoying great food and drinks.“

“This is a quaint café with ample indoor and outdoor seating. It has very large windows and is pleasantly bright. The outdoor patio looks out on Victoria's Gorge; a very relaxing scene. Service staff are very friendly. All in all a pleasant place to spend some time. Be aware that it can be a little tricky to find since it is at the back of an apartment complex. I didn't have a chance to try out the food but it looks very good.“

One recommendation: while me and my gf loved absolutely everything about this spot, our husbands (who are meat eaters and would not choose a spot like this normally) said they would have been more enticed to come if there was one additional dish on the menu: a classic hearty breakfast: eggs, bacon, sourdough. That's what they ended up ordering off the side menu, but there was no selling point for them from the menu at first glance. They have Nourish a 9.5/10 and said this would tip it over for them!“

“Koffi serves some of the best soup and delicious bread that I’ve ever eaten. And I should know, because I had some at lunch today. And I had it gratis..because the lovely staff could see how frustrated I was that my new debit card would not work. Now what businesses give out free soup…not many! So thanks Koffi!!“

I came for the German meal tonight and it was fantastic. The red cabbage was like my mom used to make and the schnitzel was pounded into perfection! “Discovery Coffee is a favourite spot when my wife abd I visit Victoris each March, and stay at the Chateau Victoria. We mostly go for a coffee, and sometimes a sweet treat. Today, we had to keep ourselves from ordering a delicious doughnut! I particularly enjoy a Sou Mocha. Yum! It is the perfect place to sit outdoors on a sunny/ish day!!“

However we are visiting from the UK and was not aware of the tipping etiquette so… if you are travelling from aboard make sure you tip as otherwise the staff will serve other customers first rather than the order of buying the coffee. Don’t make the same mistake I did. 4 people that brought their drinks after me got prioritise as they obviously tipped 🤷‍♀️.“

“Went out to have coffee with my parents on a Sunday afternoon (March 8, 2026), we had a long conversation and accidentally stayed past closing as we lost track of the time. The staff member was super nice, they didn't say anything and they began the closing ritual of cleaning and shutting down equipment, we finally noticed and figured out they were closed, we apologized for staying past, and they were absolutely lovely about it, so huge kudos for nice people behind the counter.

Everyone's drinks and treats were very good too, I had an Orange Pekoe tea, I have come to expect tea to be an afterthought in cafes but it was exceptional here, the teabag was a disposable manually loaded deal and the tea was of an excellent quality so major kudos there as well.

My father's coffee was well made and he enjoyed it greatly, and my mother's hot chocolate was splendid.

The atmosphere was very nice, I will definitely visit again!

“My girlfriend and I went downtown specifically to enjoy one of their delicious chai lattes. While I was paying for parking, a seagull pooped on me and my brand new hat. We still went to get a drink and told the baristas about the situation. They offered a rag to clean up and made us customers of the day. Definitely the best spot in town!“

“During the protest on Feb 19 I came in to get tea and coffee. I like to support small businesses like this. Nice clean place. Vax pass required to sit in but not to take out. Which was nice. I had a lovely girl serve me and we talked about the egg bites. I thanked her and went to leave and had a woman cruse at me and then threaten to hit me. I kindly asked if she was having a bad day and needed a hug. I then began to record her I case she did proceed with what she said. I want to apologize to all people who were there trying to enjoy a peaceful day, and the the lovely staff who are just trying to do their job in a world that’s gone nuts. Sorry that this woman felt the need to be ignorant and violent to a person who was peacefully and politely getting a tea and coffee. This behaviour in older adults is embarrassing. And I am sorry it happened in your nice establishment. Hopefully it won’t happen again. I’d like to post the woman’s picture since she threatened me. But I’ll save her the embarrassment. “We were visiting Victoria and by chance met Fadi- one of the owners who told us about his family’s cafe. We LOVE Lebanese food so decided to check it out for lunch. We had chicken shawarma donairs and tabouleh and loved it. But most of all his family is so kind and warm and the cafe is super cute! Thank you!“

“I was going to leave a review for five stars after having delightful service from a very efficient team that was so helpful and kind. And then I ate the breakfast sandwich. And my world was reborn. These people need 11 stars, this breakfast sandwich was the most amazing breakfast sandwich I'd had in years and it rocked my world. They also had like five different types of sandwiches to choose from that were all eggy and cheesy and delicious and suited to the whim of the morning, what could possibly top that. “Just brewed up a V60 batch of the Brazil Jaguara Crazy, and it is crazy good. I’ve long been a fan of Discovery Coffee’s single origins for their light roast pourover-friendly profiles, and since moving from the island to Vancouver I have started ordering it for delivery. This stuff is a smash hit.“

“Stopped in here last Saturday afternoon while visiting Victoria from Calgary and honestly it might be the best coffee I've had on this whole trip. The lavender latte was perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and the barista was super friendly and patient while I figured out what I wanted. The space has a really warm, lived-in feel with plenty of natural light coming through the front windows. Definitely adding Habit Coffee to my list of reasons to come back to this city.“

I had a wonderful experience here! The shop itself is incredibly **cute** and has such a welcoming atmosphere.
More importantly, the service was top-notch. I originally ordered my drink iced, but it was brought out hot by mistake. The staff was so kind and professional about it—they **remade it instantly** without any hesitation. The new drink was absolutely **delicious** and well worth the wait.

“This little cafe is phenomenal! I'm traveling⛴️ from Alberta and have been here twice. The food has been fresh, tasty and I absolutely loved it each time! The latte and cappuccino was delicious! They have lots of options too so if you are vegetarian, vegan or even keto, they've got stuff for everyone. If you are keto there's a vegetarian quiche that I think would count as low carb. They have great sweets too.
They even have complimentary lemon water. I highly, highly recommend this café! It can be a tad bit pricey, but worth every penny! It's a good thing I don't live here, I'd come here everyday and my poor bank account would beg for mercy.

“AMAZING PLACE INDEED: DUO CAFE is lovely Cafe inside the Lobby of the Inn at Laurel Pointe - and it is truly exceptional.

I was on vacation with my husband in Victoria in Dec 2025 and discovered this great cafe and we come regularly now that we have moved back to Victoria. The staff are always amazing and do an exceptional job of consistently providing great service and making exceptional drinks and baked good.

Since I spent about 25 days in Victoria in December - and since our return in January 2026 my husband and I have visited many of the local coffee shops and bakeries in search of that special combination of having EXCEPTIONAL COFFEE AND EXCEPTIONAL BAKED GOODS!!!! It is a very hard combo to find - and DUO CAFE is the only one to have that prize.

Victoria for the size of the city has an abundance of coffee shops and sadly most do not know how to make good drinks. The things about Duo that makes it stand out is the quality of the ingredients from what they use to prepare their coffees, and specialty drinks - to the high quality of ingredients they use to prepare their baked goods.

If you were to order a Dark Chocolate Mocha at DUO CAFE - you get an outstanding coffee base for the espresso and they use their special dark chocolate mix for the Mocha portion of the Latte.

No one else does that in Victoria - you usually get those horrible TORANI SYRUPS that are just horrid and destroy the coffee. And if other coffee shops in town use a better bought mix from a supplier it may be mediocre at best - but better then TORANI - but then they fail on the espresso side and use an inferior coffee for the espresso base and also skimp on the amount of espresso they use so the latte is weak.

Also, at Duo Cafe the management and staff pay attention to the details. When you order your drink - you get a lovely short bread cookie on the side. Everything here is done with great care to quality and refinement.

The baked goods are also exceptional: Always fresh, and you can taste that they use high quality ingredients as the flavor is full and delicious. Most of the baked goods I have tried in Victoria since being here in Dec 2025 and then moving back permanently in January, are not that great to be honest.

DUO CAFE - is truly culinary grade in everything they do. My only regret is that once more people become aware of DUO CAFE. I won't be able to get seat anymore.“

“Don’t listen to the 1 stars. This is hands down the best kept secret in Victoria. They have the best matcha I’ve ever had, along with amazing service. Minimalist yet elevated.
