“I had the best oat milk latte and chilli. the service was wonderful, and they were accommodative to my celiac allergy and replaced the complimentary bread with a gluten free brownie at no extra charge. i was so pleased i went back within the week. definitely a hidden gem and i wish i discovered this place sooner! i want to come by every time i’m in the valley if i can.“
“Although I am not exactly the target audience for an English Tea room, I have to say that Butchart far exceeded any expectations! Although we have been to the Gardens many times over the last 4 decades, this is the first time that my wife suggested that we take “High Tea” before our stroll through the amazing gardens... And of course it proved to be a wonderful idea as I relished every bite and sip (we also had the 3-glass “taster” which paired with the food nicely)... I will absolutely be taking tea on our next visit!“
“First visit. Nice clean room, friendly staff, food looks great. I went for the roast beef sandwich because it looked insane. On my way out the door I took a bite and quickly realized I was going to have to eat while driving. It was that good. So now I'm trying to eat this massive sandwich while driving when the car next to me starts honking. The man inside gestures for me to roll down my window, leans over and says, "where did you get that sandwich? It looks incredible!". The car behind him starts honking. "Hanks! It.is incredible!". The car behind me starts honking. We laugh and drive off. So yeah, if you want to get a sandwich that is so good it can cause a minor traffic incident, I highly recommend this place.“
“Not what I was expecting but BETTER!!!! This place was amazing and the cafe was modern, bright, cute and spacious !! They have plant based mills which was the main thing I was seeking out. And many different syrups too. My latte was amazing!!! They have a full staff so ordering was quick and my coffee came out pretty fast too for having a lot of people. I recommend if you are in the area! They have a cute side shop in the store too with cute mugs and powders to buy etc.“
“Because we are lucky enough to live in the beautiful Cowichan Valley we are at the Leeward Cafe on an almost weekly basis. The food is always scrumptious and the staff welcoming, friendly and courteous. We love the ambience of dining in the clean and cozy cafe but in fair weather we bring our own mugs, which the staff happily fill, and we sit on the quaint benches out back and enjoy the boats and birds. The Leeward Cafe and its sister business True Grain Bakery are delightful!“

“I recently had to drive a group down from the comox valley to shawnigan lake and drop them off and then pick them up 6 hours later. I knew I needed a coffee and came across a neat convenience store right near the lake , but just didn’t feel like the gas station / convenience store coffee on this day so I googled “best coffee in shawnigan Lake” and got a direct hit with Shawnigan House Coffee and chocolate ! Well!! Let me tell you !!! After sitting down with a caramel latte and starting light chat with a few customers and the staff, I found myself in the exact spot 4 hours later !!! I read an amazing paper, I bought some local art from a local artist that they kindly display and sell for them and I most importantly met the amazing owners and found an incredible energy and something pretty special from one of the new staff and very good friends if the owners! You could not ask for anything more from a local business from a world class guest experience than here! We even had resident Turkeys that came by for a visit !! How cool is that!!! The snacks are great, the coffee is hot and savory, the music is chill , but most importantly the company and hospitality from the staff is dreamy!!! Thank you for an amazing day while I made my first visit to your secret utopia at Shawnigan Lake ! It definitely won’t be my last. See you all very soon!!! “A hidden gem.Collections of "tin” cups (as name suggests), free grapes, and the fish tank are so cool to find in a coffee shop.Featured multiple flavors of bubble tea tasted surprisingly good and I ordered a Tara-flavor bubble tea and some coconut bar dessert.It is a big surprise to discover a bubble tea place in Duncan!Would definitely revisit and try their coffee options if I travel in Duncan again and highly recommended!!“
“One of the best peppermint mochas I’ve ever tasted, good coffee and snacks. Queues can get quite long and while drinks are executed very well the wait times can get rather long so don’t come here if you only have a quick minute to grab a drink. Cafe seems like local gather place with lots of regulars.“

“Stopped for coffee, a muffin and a sandwich on a road trip heading up to the Cathedral Grove old growth Forest. The coffee was flavorful, the muffin was fresh that morning, and so was the sandwich. There were a few tables in there with locals solving world problems.“

Have tried a few different hot drink options and wasn't able to finish any of them.Also worth noting not a lot of (any?) gluten free options. When doing lunch runs for the crew, it typically means I've got to stop off somewhere else to get a gluten free meal.“

Never have had a wrong order, always had great customer service, and always have had great conversations with the staff members! While there is no drive through, there are dedicated 5-minute parking spots for Mobile Orders. (I always recommend ordering ahead anywhere any way, much more efficient for you and, I think, the staff!)Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp, stairs and level access, depending where in the shopping centre you're coming from.“
“This Starbucks, in particular the drive through as I never go inside, consistently has some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. Kind, friendly, empathetic and skilled at their job workers. I often refer with my other business owner friends to "Starbucks their training model" with their employees to attempt to have workers that effective. Kudos to the hiring manager and training manager.“
