“I've lived here for several months and it became a home. I truly love the staff and the general vibe in the hostel. I feel like its clean (though that depends on personal interpretation i guess) and the food was great. Especially dinner I could still enjoy everyday, even though I had eaten it for a long time. “This place is a gem...that gets lost amongst the Golfer Clientele....
You do not need to be a golfer to enjoy Bill Mattick's Restaurant.
I love this place to take my book and sit on patio for appies and a cider SOLO, or daytime cocktails with the girls, or an early evening date night with the hubby.
...especially on the patio, in the sunshine with the gorgeous landscaping and sound of birds.
I highly recommend the Crab Dip (curry undertone) with chips, or the Halibut burger and yam fries.

The prices are reasonable.

I love that they have merridale berry 🍓 ciders.

The service is fast, kind and attentive.

Then to top it off, homemade sticky toffee pudding with homemade ice cream! (We shared but now I wish I didn't have to) It was all to die for and the perfect place for foodie lovers date night! “We celebrated a friend’s birthday tonight at Glo Restaurant + Lounge, and it was such a fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely incredible. The presentation, the flavors… just yum. You can truly tell how much care and effort goes into every dish. Everything looked beautiful and tasted even better. The service made the night even more special. The seater/greeter was so warm and welcoming right from the start. Our server, Kaitlyn, was amazing in every way. Super polite and fun, yet still professional and perfectly attentive without being overbearing (which we really appreciated!). The bartender was SO sweet as well. Thank you for the little details that made a difference. For the paper napkins (cloth ones give me the ick!), for happily substituting my mashed potatoes for a salad, and for delivering such genuinely great customer service all around. We truly enjoyed ourselves and will absolutely be back!“

Low score for atmosphere just because my baseline is a restaurant, but one does not typically come here just to eat anyway!

If you are at the rec centre anyways, then this is a great choice for food.“

“Limited English beers and English food for a “British style” pub. I would have expected more options like a cottage pie, bangers and mash, etc. plus I only really saw one Guinness option, rather than perhaps a couple other choices (Kilkenny, Smithwicks etc). That was the only mildly disappointing part, the food and beers we had were great and the staff were great, just felt less authentic than what I remember from the last visit which was some time ago.“
