“From the moment you walk through the door to the moment you leave, the professional and attentive staff take care of every detail. Restaurant is large - it has great ambience, the layout provides a personal and intimate feeling despite there being many tables. The food is superb, we plan on returning to make our way through the great menu. It is the best place we have eaten at in Canada for food, service and ambience. We highly recommend the seafood tower as a way to taste through some of the menu. The grilled octopus rivalled what we have eaten in Italy. The pork belly was cooked to perfection. The wine list is extensive and expertly curated.“

“The food was better than average. They have a few tables. My friend and I were dining in and it seems to operate more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. The girl brought our food out, but everything else we had to go to the counter for. It was OK, just not what I was expecting and wasn’t obvious when we came in and sat down. I was ignored until I asked a question.“

“A very lovely place that I’m glad is in the downtown area. I haven’t tried all of their options, but their Onigiri is very well-prepared and the only thing I find myself eating if I need a quick lunch. Fairly priced, too, making going there often affordable.

Their imported items are amazing and vast in terms of what they have, along with having an array of great-tasting items. Their canned coffee is a personal favourite of mine. To mention, their staff is incredibly hospitable and helpful, and, at least from what I’ve personally experienced, have a stellar memory when it comes to regulars. Normally I do not like tuna at sushi places (a bit mushy and often not the highest quality) this was amazing. We had take out, and we are from vancouver, so the value and size in vancouver is much bigger, but in the island I would say top notch. We tried another place the week before and it was not great. Food was fast. The staff on the phone and in person were lovely. We ordered

The dynamic was as crispy. Now I don’t know if that’s cuz they friend it fresh and by the time I got home and it was done before. As well as the assorted sashimi. But that’s to be expected for take out tempura. All in all I would get again and would recommend“

Especially, the sashimi was incredibly fresh and came in a great variety. The tempura was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and even the sauce had a unique quality that was different from other places.
It felt like I was actually in Japan.
