“From the moment you walk through the door to the moment you leave, the professional and attentive staff take care of every detail. Restaurant is large - it has great ambience, the layout provides a personal and intimate feeling despite there being many tables. The food is superb, we plan on returning to make our way through the great menu. It is the best place we have eaten at in Canada for food, service and ambience. We highly recommend the seafood tower as a way to taste through some of the menu. The grilled octopus rivalled what we have eaten in Italy. The pork belly was cooked to perfection. The wine list is extensive and expertly curated.“

“We tried the Wagyu steak and several rolls at TORO, and everything was very delicious. The food quality is consistently good, and the servers are welcoming and friendly. We have visited this restaurant several times, and overall we always enjoy the atmosphere and the food.

The only area that could be improved is the service accuracy and response time. On several visits, we received something different from what we ordered, or the information provided about the specials or menu items was not fully accurate. However, in general, the staff have good behavior and the food is excellent, so we still enjoy coming here.“

“A very lovely place that I’m glad is in the downtown area. I haven’t tried all of their options, but their Onigiri is very well-prepared and the only thing I find myself eating if I need a quick lunch. Fairly priced, too, making going there often affordable.

Their imported items are amazing and vast in terms of what they have, along with having an array of great-tasting items. Their canned coffee is a personal favourite of mine. To mention, their staff is incredibly hospitable and helpful, and, at least from what I’ve personally experienced, have a stellar memory when it comes to regulars. What I love is the batter for tempura and yam . By far it is the best texture batter I ever tasted. Very light and super crispy.

The Tuna Tataki was simple and tasty. Tuna doesn’t have any foul or fishy smell to it.

The teriyaki is seasoned very well, I love the generous amount of sesame.

Will I go back? Absolutely yes.“

Most AYCE places really skimp on the fish, or not too fresh but this place is legit...The service seemed a bit slow at first but in hindsight we realized that the service seemed slow due to the sushi chef not just throwing things out, and making sure they had everything right down to the presentation..Also to be fair, there was 8 of us..and only 1 sushi chef on duty at the time...We were very concerned about the 2pm being the last call as we walked in close to 1 pm...(which was really not their fault) but the 2 hostess assured us that we will be able to get in few orders if we needed it...They were very professional, and I can't say enough about their patience, as one of our party protested that it was taking too long...But they remained very professional, and courteous, and politely assured us that they will make sure we will all get taken care of...(Regardless of the short time constraint)...We were visiting from Seattle, and I will say that Shiki Sushi will be on top of my list when I visit Victoria again....I, just can't say enough about their service, compassion, professionalism, amazing food, and their passion to making proper Sushi...Give this place a try, as You will leave very happy!! Shiki Sushi is a rare find, and a gem in this day and age of all you can eat, as they still haven't forgotten the art of proper sushi...We look forward to visiting, again soon..!“

“Every time I go to Hillside I always drop by to my favorite fast food Edo.I usually order bento chicken with tempura and gyoza, I tried the noodles too and its so yummy.Moving forward I'm gonna try the rest on the menu.I would like to commend the staff esp the cashier Junna Marrie Yrah Bautista and her husb.They are so friendly and accommodating.Looking forward of having my next visit ..

“I ordered the beef teriyaki rice bowl and it was delicious! The cashier was friendly and welcoming. When I asked for a cup of water, she happily gave me one for free. This was a refreshing change from Pho Tru (same food court), where they refused to give me water—even after I ordered soup—claiming they didn't have cups, despite clearly having them for soda.“
