Always fresh pre-portioned meals for take-away. Good selection {if before 3:00 PM) and great service.
Though prices are climbing, still more reasonable than restaurants AND better quality.
Parking limited, crowded, and busy. Use caution.
In my opinion, best Japanese food on lower Vancouver Island.

Fujiya is a small but well-loved shop offering fresh and affordable sushi, along with a wide selection of Japanese items and lunch options such as rice bowls and meals that can be taken away and warmed up at home. The helpful staff assist customers in finding tasty meals and snacks, making it a popular destination for those craving Japanese cuisine in the Shelbourne area. Over the years, many customers have appreciated the long-standing presence of Fujiya in the community, viewing it as a local institution. While the store can sometimes have limited choices if food isn't freshly made, it remains a convenient spot to pick up quick, inexpensive sushi and Japanese goods. Customers are advised to bring their own bag and be mindful that supplies like soy sauce are carefully counted out, with extra charges applying if more is needed.
