This was genuinely one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever encountered. After a 15-hour film shoot, my team and I came in exhausted, laughing, and completely sober. Your manager, Chris at BIG BAD JOHNS refused us entry, claiming my employee was “drunk.” That accusation was blatantly false, disrespectful, and entirely unacceptable.
To deny entry based on an unfounded assumption of people laughing and connecting while being aggressive to a female especially to guests coming directly from professional production shows a serious lack of judgment. I’m embarrassed for the establishment to allow this type of male ego. For Victoria base company looking for business this is not good management

Went twice. Fun atmosphere, great service for the most part. Didn’t eat there, except for the peanuts. Lower stars because—A frustrated staff member barged on through a crowd of us, we had just arrived and making our way to the back of the place, hurt my hip and hurt the shoulder of a friend. That was 4 days ago—my hip still hurts.

Had a nice time at this bar, loved the old mine/woodshed ambiance. It's a good dirt bar for cheap drinks. Built into the Strathcona hotel so it's easy to miss from the street.
