Unfortunately we have had back to back poor experiences here. They have transitioned to also serve Korean food and think they have lost their direction. We both had bento boxes, and the best thing was the California roll which says something. My partner even had me try her Teriyaki Beef asking if it tasted “off” to me. Even the prices seemed inflated for the quality - $10.50 for agedashi tofu? The sister restaurant in Oak Bay is fantastic so disappointed that the one closest to us doesn’t make the mark. We probably won’t be back.

Fish was fresh and presentation was amazing. Generous portions for the Bento boxes. The chicken karaage was crispy. Food came out fast and our server was attentive - cleared the plates quickly, water refills etc.

Did a large pre-order and it tasted terrific. The price was reasonable but they did a substitute without letting us know. They really nicely gave us free edamame with the large order.

It is the best sushi in Victoria since Sammy at Japanese Village retired and Fuku Sushi closed. So what I am saying is that it is very good, better than very good but I'm afraid I can't offer the "excellent" rating because I have had better. I will continue to order their food because it is very good, well presented, and the service is delightful. I noticed a technical rookie error yesterday once I ordered my take-out. The lemon slices although very fresh still contained the seeds. A professional would not allow that to happen. As a side note, the overall appearance of the seating area lacks ambiance and is not at all impressive. Given their prices I would hope for a little better.

I've had the Bento Box twice in the past month since our office moved into the area. Everything about the variety of food that comes with the Bento Box [and then some] is delicious; plus, the care and due diligence of packing a to-go order is amazing - they vent the tempura container and plastic-wrap the miso soup.
The food is flavourful and is more than you get in a typical Bento Box.
This is the Chicken Katsu Bento Box: Chicken Katsu, Mixed Tempura, Mixed Veggies, California Roll, Seaweed Salad, Rice and Miso Soup. All for under $25.

I had an excellent dining experience at Bon Sushi in Royal Oak. The Popcorn Roll and Victoria Roll were both outstanding, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and tasty, a true delight for sushi lovers. The quality of the food and the attentive service made for a memorable meal. I highly recommend Bon Sushi for anyone looking for top-notch sushi in the area.
I ordered to-go. 3 different things. I am a vegetarian. All three rolls came in the same box stuffed into it, meats all in with the vegetarian rolls. Combined with all rolls smelled fishy and all rolls tasted fishy.It was expensive and didn’t even ate a quarter of it. The seaweed used was rubbery and tough as well. Expensive seaweed is not. I would not recommend to anyone.
Vegetarian options: If it didn’t smell and taste fishy, and stuck all in one box with touching meats I may have enjoyed it better.
