My coffee was good but the cookie. Oh my. So burnt. I can’t believe they were serving it. Service was unfriendly today. SadI got it to go so couldn’t exchange the cookie. Ruined my experience of going often

I often stop into Bubby Rose's Upper Cook Street location to pick up a sandwich for lunch. However, I have too many times been disappointed by finding that the sandwiches are dried up and stale. Yesterday I had the same experience. The sandwich was obviously made the day before. I am now looking for some other place where I can buy reliably fresh sandwiches.

Came here with my partner for a coffee and snack to get out of the rain. The cafe is nice and welcoming. There is a lot of different pastry and baked goods everything from cookies, muffins, cinnamon bun, to even pizza and just as many coffee & drinks.I ordered a spicy mocha and a Sticky Bun. Coffee was really unique. It had the typical chocolate taste of a mocha but also the added kick of some sort of hot spices which you think wouldn’t go well, but actually did as the spices were too overpowering. Perfect for a cold rainy day. The sticky bun was good also, maybe could have been heated up but not a big deal.Overall, a nice cozy place to stop in for a coffee.

I am low vision and wasn’t sure where I marked into. I asked the fellow if this was a café, and he said yes, he escorted me to a table and asked me if he could get me something. I said a cappuccino and he said yes I can make that for you. He bought it to me he said It’s a little hot. Would you like a sleeve and I said yes please. I hadn’t even thought about it and I said oh I guess I should pay and he said it’s on the House smiling face emoji very rare, that you get somebody so kind and caring and attentive to somebody who is legally blind. it was a very thoughtful and nice gesture. I recommend Bubby roses to everyone not just people with disabilities, but it was a fairly nice thing to do. Then I purchased a brownie chocolate chip cookie and a chocolate almond croissant. All were very good five stars.

Friendly staff, decent coffee and the baked goods are ok but not great. There’s better offerings not far away.

The server with dirty dreadlocks and poor manners was the problem She seemed more concerned with the homeless man outside the doorway that she seem to have a relationship with then making sure our order was correct I would not recommend this place if you want to enjoy a good lunch and be served properly

I almost didn't find this place as the sign and door face diagonally, so when you walk down Cook street, looking at street facing signs, you likely won't see it. The entrance is on the corner of the building. We walked in, intent on ordering a latte and chai and hoping to order a gluten free goodie, due to allergies, not choice. They have larger mugs, so you can order a sixteen ounce to stay, which we did. We also ordered the flourless chocolate cake and a chocolate, quinoa muffin to go, for later. For seating there are two, oversized chairs which sit low, but so far back you are almost laying back to have any back support. The rest of the seating is cute, with log pole backed chairs, but not the most comfortable...so you won't want to stay too long. The washroom, like most around BC, is ungendered. It was clean and had enough room to take care of business...which is all that is required. The coffee and chai were warm but cool enough to drink immediately and both had good flavor and body. The flourless, chocolate cake was delicious and perfect for sharing. I told the employees whoever is baking their GF goodies outbakes the only GF shop we found in Victoria. We tried the muffin, two days later...as it was forgotten while we ran around. It was still moist and had good, soft but firm crumb that didn't stretch a whole lot when pulled apart before separating. Many gluten free baked goods tend to be too elastic, which also makes for a gummy mouth feel. Their baker knows how to bake gluten free, even if they didn't begin in that arena.Parking is fairly easy. Most of the downtown street area is pay for until six in the evening, but it's reasonable.Their chalkboard menu states they sell gluten free buns Saturday through Tuesdays as well. I will most definately be back. :)
