I remember how much the original owner put into this business, and how good the quality used to be. Its not like this anymore. I feel like this place is lacking the leadership and commitment to quality it used to have. The food/coffee is not what it used to be, and is expensive at that. The premises don't appear to be cleaned or given any care. The staff don't seem to be attentive and are often sitting on their phones, and have often overcharged me. I will walk a couple blocks further to grab a coffee/snack to make up for what this place is now lacking.

I love bubby roses for their coffee and quality baked goods, but their price raises make me sad. There hasn't been any significant change in service, the product, or the restaurants themselves to justify the price increase, and if you believe the coffee snobs in low-star reviews the coffee got worse. (Although I personally didn't notice any difference).

We had delicious iced, oat-milk lattes and pastries. My brownie was decadent, but not cloyingly sweet. Perfect dark, rich chocolate taste and texture. My husband loved his date bar, too. Great afternoon break! Thank you!

Grungy. Place needs a clean. Everything looked dirty. Dirty window's and doors, dirty floor, dirty tables. Place needs a deep clean and some love by the staff, or more likely the owner. One staff working was nice and friendly though. Please bring back how Bubbys used to be 5 years ago.

Coffee was a disaster… one would think that a decent looking coffee shop and bakery downtown Victoria would have figured out the basics of pulling a shot and making a decent americano… but sadly no… I could see the bottom of my cup through my americano, it was so weak…. My wife’s was the same so not a one time user error…I was also expecting an assortment of several different baked goods made by an actual pastry chef or something… as one would expect from a bakery downtown Victoria… but the only option was a plain butter croissant… not trying to be mean… but very disappointing- I won’t be back.

Horrible espresso and terrible macchiato - both had no aroma and a very metallic taste. The service was okay, but the pastries didn't look good. After tasting the coffee we decided against ordering food. We always thought Bubby Rose was a good place. Today we went there for the first time and will definitely not go back a second time. Very disappointed.

I visited this morning. I knew the original owner and visited from early days on Cook Street.The new ownership is obvious.The quality is so poor. My lox and bagel was 2 days old. I had to ask. The bagel was so stale.The selection was really poor.The pictures in the window not representative of food inside.The dishwasher is broken. So nothing but deli paper for a plate.The bathroom is disgusting .The toilet does not flush. It is broken and well let's leave it at it had been used many, many times. The note on the toilet said pull handle up to flush. It just came off in my hand.Apparently it has been out of order a while.My grandaughter ate nothing.I won't return.Hopefully Health Board will look into the toilet issue not appropriate sanitary conditions for an eatery.The lady server was very kind, apolgetic, and helpful.
