Cafe Mexico has been a longstanding restaurant downtown Victoria. If your expecting fully authentic Mexican food its not that. It is however a solid semi authentic option. Primarily geared for tourists the menu is pricey for what it is but as its located in market square its a prime spot to eat in the downtown core and soak up the ambience and people watch. Overall 7.5/10

We had an excellent dining experience. Restaurant and washrooms are well maintained and lovely and clean! Staff were all knowledgeable and very helpful offering recommendations. We will bring friends next visit!

Not impressed and won't return. Overpriced quasi Mexican. Just wanted a big old burrito. They don't have one with ground beef or sour cream. Ordered shredded beef in a wrap with a tablespoon of guacamole on the side. It came with nacho chips on the main plate as a side...meh? $32 with tip.

Oh man this place was so good! I'd totally go here again. Had the beef barbacoa enchiladas and they whole thing was perfect. Nice decore. Could be slightly more comfortable seating but if that's the only thing then...

Rude staff. See where it comes from. The manager and tattooed bartender. Absolutely should not be around people. Food greasy as the manager. Will NEVER go back.
And now he replies with this. No worries. We as in all of us will never be back. Also if you think the 18 of us have not shared horrible experience you are wrong again. The few minutes....lol really, 20 minutes. This is when people go to the bar for a quick drink. For the partition we did ask about halfway in was told no so that ended that, it was a request not a demand. And for the record the scamdemic is over. For the outside food yes we in Canada bring bday cakes to restaurants and in all my years and hundreds of restaurants you were the only one to refuse a bday cake. And yes many restaurants to choose from and this adult group will never return you win I guess......lol. Good luck won't be surprised when we hear you close down and blame the economy.

Blonde Waitress was very rude, only time in my life i have never tipped a worker… thats how rude she was, and clearly based on other reviews im not the only one, its rather sad you have lost business because of one person, obviously she isnt built for the service industry

Undoubtedly, the best mexican restaurant in the town. My best is Taquitos Con Pollo and some churros at the end. And, their Mocktails were amazing too.

Friendly service, food was not great (especially the shrimp), margaritas were so boozy we didn’t drink them (a ratio I would have loved to be served at 19). Easy place to go in a pinch because they seem to have good availability.

We stopped in with 20 minutes left for happy hour and the waitress made sure we got our fill. Highly recommend the Tommy, and the mangonada for drinks, and the tacos for happy hour. The enchiladas were also delicious. Their tequila selection is great, and not too pricey. This is a good restaurant choice in the area.
