This café, if I understand correctly, has a long local history, as local friends have recommended it to me for a long time.
My question after the visit - where are the stories???
You know, if I decided to visit some PLACE, I would also refuse to stay elsewhere.
And it matters to me where I spend my time.
What a story I recognize in this place.
What an opportunity for development I get.
Again, any format of the store (café, shop, hairdresser...) is valuable to me first and foremost for how it conveys stories.
To make a comparison, it’s like a book. For simplicity of explanation, imagine some well-known religious book.
Are all the stories or tips in the book new to us? No.
But the book gives them to you so that these stories start to affect you.
Same with the café.
I can make coffee at home from the teapot.
And if I get out somewhere, I need to be served, if you can say so - creativity.
Well, the very essence to which this creativeness applies.
Some recipes are offered for some reason.
Or the story of some chair in the establishment.
Or music on the backdrop.
Or...
Then this is the place that I want to choose, visit, switch.
In this café, there are empty cans at the front desk.
No music.
And the basic bun made from water, flour, eggs, and sugar is sold with a surcharge of 800-1000% on top. Well, if profit is so important to you, then put a lower mark-up and sell 2-3 buns at the same time as 1 expensive bun sells now. Surely then the coffee shop in the morning would not be so empty. Or add a creative ingredient to these products so that the value is perceived first, not the price.
With all due respect to the friends who recommended this spot, in fact, I came here not for inspiring stories but for strange prices on ordinary products ))

I’m not sure if it’s due to the greasiness, but the doughnuts tasted wet. Coffee was good tho.

Consistently amazing coffee, with consistently terrible service. The staff spend the whole time talking to each other, and are rude to customers. But the coffee… so good!

Love the new location, great atmosphere and amazing coffee bevies
The best apple fritters in town, come on!
We ordered 4 bags online to be shipped to Edmonton, they were sent promptly but on arrival we noticed our 5lb bag had turned into a 300g bag on its journey over haha. I let them know and with no questions asked they sent us another 5lb bag right away! Love the coffee and love the service. Life long customer from now on!
I love this place! I only wish there was easier access to power if you wanted to stay and study for a bit.
The original location, great selection and kind folks!
