Was a great experience visiting Empire Donuts! Their apple ? fritter, butter pecan ? and peanut ?butter donuts were a success!!! Very airy and full of flavor!!!!

Vegetarian options: Not sure if they vegan friendly.

Dietary restrictions: Made-to-order makes it difficult to order something if your allergic to nuts, etc.

Parking: Parking is by Indigo. There is an app you can download. There is a machine and base price is: $1.25/hr ?

Kid-friendliness: Kids would enjoy this place. Donuts are adult-size.

Wheelchair accessibility: ♿ Wheelchair accessible.

Overall a great little doughnut shop! It’s no Kristy Kreme but for now this will do! Good service not great but it was still early so it’s excusable ? the only problem was finding parking!

Doughnuts were amazing, was upset that they didn’t have a Boston Cream that day.
But the brown butter toffee doughnut was the best followed by key lime pie and was a fan of the earl grey.

After hearing about this place for over a year I finally tried it.
Meh, the doughnut itself is the type I prefer, yeast dough and not cake dough. I had high hopes based on friends praising them. Perhaps you all have not had a great doughnut before then. The only flavour added is the icing, the dough itself is plain. It amounts to a tim Hortons style doughnut. No great flavour infusions, only the icing.
Small shop with limited inventory. If you really need these go early if you want a few choices of their flavoured icing doughnuts. Nothing special and after waiting so long to get my hands on some, well I might as well have gone to tims. Same amount of sugar and lame toppings with poor presentation.
For me it's a skip for the price and selection of the doughnuts.
I did not try their other food options but had a coffee and would not rush back.

Parking: Parking is hard to find and the pay area if you find a spot is some of the most expensive I've seen in the city.

Empire Donuts has been a favourite of my wife and I for years. We were lucky enough to work with Melanie for catering desserts for our wedding in May 2024!

Melanie can be a bit hard to get a hold of via email, but once we were able to talk on the phone everything was a breeze! She was very kind, considerate and helped us plan out the 9 dozen doughnuts plus one Texas doughnut we used as our Wedding Cake. While we picked a few things, Melanie was adaptive with our more vague requests and willing to craft some more deliciously "abnormal" doughnuts for us too!

They were a huge hit with the guests, from the lovely classic cinnamon to the orange creamsicle and the apple fritter in between, they were devoured with glee. Our chocolate raspberry Texas doughnut was perfect for my wife and I as our wedding cake substitute.

We were able to pickup the doughnuts fresh, the day of the wedding. They were packed up and taped up for us, allowing for safe transport to the venue near Sidney BC.

I know we were lucky to be one of the few weddings to order from them this year, but if you need some catering done and are looking for a change of desserts with doughnuts, you will be hard pressed to find anyone better than Empire Doughnuts!

Parking: Behind the building, but the entrance to Empire Donuts faces it.

Wheelchair accessibility: While it is all one level, and parking has a stall (if I recall rcorrectly), the door has no automatic opening function

Always stop into Empire Donuts when I'm in Victoria. We tried the fritter and the Bart Simpson. A little on the sweeter side but man they're just so pillow-y soft.
