I’m a Greek Canadian raised in Toronto where markets like Fig are more prominent than they are here in Victoria. All that to say is, I’m incredibly grateful Fig exists. It’s a comforting slice of home where I can get my Mediterranean essentials - happily purchasing traditional dodoni feta and always leaving with a delicious piece of bougatsa.
visited Fig Mediterranean Deli only once recently and was pleasantly surprised. The falafel wrap I had was fresh and flavorful, wrapped in soft pita with crisp veggies and tangy pickled turnips. The deli itself is more than just prepared food—it has an impressive selection of imported olives, cheeses, oils and spices that make browsing fun while you wait. Incredible deli, the food prepared there is all delicious and reasonably priced. Very authentic, the staff are very kind and knowledgeable about what they’re serving. The store offers a wide variety of goods available for purchase on top of what is prepared there, perfect if you’re looking for unique ingredients to elevate your meals at home.
