Unique Fisherman's Wharf [Victoria BC]I've enjoyed going to a few Fisherman's Wharf in California where tourists and locals can eat, play, and shop but much is to be said for this unique fisherman's wharf... people actually live here in floating homes like a small community. It wasn't as big as San Francisco's or Monterey's in California but it was cool seeing the private homes.* Food - they have pizza, fish & chips, a Hawaiian-themed grill, and Mexican food. Order lunch or dinner at any of these food kiosks and find a place to sit at the community table seating area. Enjoy the views! They also have a mini donut shop and an ice cream shop (Victoria's famous floating ice cream store) LoL!* Shops - there was only one gift store we saw. Unfortunately, it was closed when we arrived. Business hours were 11:00a to 6:00p.* Water taxi - these iconic pickle boats will transport passengers to any designated ferry stops within the harbor and surrounding waterways. You can travel by water taxi or enjoy a guided tour. Fun to see them on water.* Whale Watching Tours - tours are available at their kiosks. Open and covered boats are available for booking* Private homes - there are 33 berths designated for floating residences, we strolled on the docks and admired these float homes. They seem to be all occupied. I loved seeing each uniquely designed colorful homes. Please respect quiet hours and private property.* Commercial fishing vessels - love fishing? Fish for salmon, halibut or cod in the Pacific Ocean... steelhead trout or salmon when you go drift fishing down one of Victoria's rivers. There is a company that will take you there. Eat, shop, and explore at this unique marine destination. This was a hidden gem we're glad we discovered. Paid parking is available. I enjoyed seeing the house boats the most so I apologize for all the photos. Review #3168

Like a boarding house with all the rules stuck here and there with cellotape. No luxury linen - infact hand towel and bath matt dirty. Extremely basic - balcony has no sun and cold - no view. Have to share a hair dryer with other room. Shower a dribble. Over priced - good location

TOURIST TRAP! This is one of the most overrated and overhyped tourist sites in the history of tourism. If you're not hungry, you probably won't need more than 30 minutes here, it's VERY small! But since you're in Victoria, you've probably heard about it, so you just have to see for yourself. The houseboats are cute and whimsical, but they are real private residences. There are some eateries around, The Fish Store is a good one. There were a couple shops charging high tourist prices. Some boating companies offering whale watching or paddleboarding, though it's quite cold especially if you fall in the water! Come here with low expectations, and come hungry.

We had the great fortune of coming across this lovely B&B. Beautiful home, wonderful owners and superbly run. Great attention to detail. There is nothing that is overlooked. In all our travels this is hands down the best B&B that we have ever stayed at.

Cute spot (wharf) by the water. Has a few eateries worth checking out. Cute little coloured floating houses. Seating space on the patio by the water. On your way there, follow the trail and grab an ice cream at a green coconut kind of shop. 97 flavours of soft ice cream. Try pineapple coconut.

We loved our experience in an one of a kind Float home in the Victoria Harbor. It even came with a deck and chilled wine glasses! Lots of privacy and small touches to make our visit perfect and memorable. Careen was a great hostess who gave us a very nice breakfast te next morning... after the BEST sleep ever! There was so much to see and do. Thanks Careen!

This was a great b&b experience! We stayed for two nights and found the room comfortable and clean. The location is great, there are tons of restaurants on Fisherman's Wharf, a water taxi stop, and whale watching tours. It's a bit of a trek to downtown from here but the taxi rides were cheap, and when it wasn't raining we walked and really enjoyed the views along the way.I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at Carenes amazing home in Fisherman’s Wharf for three nights, and loved every minute. We had the Poppy room, which was a really good size, and the little balcony over the water was perfect to sit with a glass of wine, or to enjoy takeaway. There are just two guest rooms - so book early! We loved staying in Fisherman’s Wharf, great food and views, and feels a million miles away from downtown Victoria- though you can walk in to town in around 20 minutes along the waterfront. Carene provides tea/coffee in the room, and a voucher to go to Imagine studio cafe just over the park for breakfast. Their breakfast is really good, as are all the people who work there and their ethos. We ended up not being able to resist their cakes/pastries to takeaway too. Such a peaceful place to stay - even when the Wharf is busy during the day. The Wharf is locked at night, and you have a code to access the dock, so totally quiet at night. Carene provides a parking permit for use during the stay. We saw sea otters and even a raccoon when we were sat on the balcony. Would love to stay again when our travels bring us to Canada.

Cute place to walk around and grab lunch if you're in the area but not as many things to look at as I had originally thought! I don't think you would be particularly missing out on anything if you didn't go here, but if you're around, it's worth a pop-in since they have some places with seafood, oysters, ice cream or mini donuts.

Stayed here for one night during a vacation out to BC. Wish we had booked many more nights to stay here after the first. The location was amazing, with a water taxi located right outside the door, many places to eat on the wharf, and a whale watching tour (discounted for tenants at the BnB) taking off from the same dock. In one day we had amazing fish&chips, saw whales and took a water taxi for a delicious dinner downtown victoria.Despite the house being on water, it did not move much, only subtle rocking which wasn't even perceivable to us as most times.Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
