I’m not sure what happened to Floyd,s diner. It’s not the same like they used to be on Yates. The food is Horrible andd service is terrible. We had a waitress it’s like she didn’t want be there. We are not going back there anymore.👎🏼👎🏼

Every time I come to Vancouver Island, I make sure to stop by—this is my most treasured place. I was so disappointed when my favorite menu item, “poutine”, was no longer available.😭 Still, the food here always makes me happy.😊

I tried the Roasted Yam and Squash Bowl. It was yummy but a bit wet. The pineapple chutney was a bit heavy on cinnamon, to the point I thought it was apple chutney because I couldn't taste the pineapple. The arugula was lost as a flavor and texture. It was mostly colour. I think if it was replaced with more parsley, or Thai basil, or chard, it would contribute more to an experience. Other than those minor observations it was great. Service was amazing. Atmosphere was so so so much better than when it was in the cramped, dark and poorly maintained old James Bay TeaRoom spot. Bathroom was super clean.

Absolutely lovely breakfast. Wait staff were phenomenal. Had a knack for just making you feel comfortable. Food was amazing!!! I had the Herb Hudson Benny. Atmosphere was very tasteful and unique. Would highly recommend this spot as a breakfast stop if you’re in the area. It will be worth it 👍🏻

Whoever decorated this place is brilliant. I love all the photography of Actors and Musicians, all the Quotes, the vibrant colours, and great music. The food was absolutely delicious, and the bacon is the best bacon I have ever had. Turns out Floyd’s has their bacon specially made just for them! I would rate a 5 but the food did take awhile to come out, the lady serving us was on her own and was fairly busy, so maybe could use more staff..That being said it was well worth the wait, and our server was lovely.
Good food, but it's the service that makes Floyd's stand out. We were served by the assistant manager and appreciated his warmth and attentiveness!

Eggs benny that is their featured dishes. We tried three everyone was delicious, the eggs were perfect. The unique style of their sliced potatoes better than hash browns and unlike French fries, golden with a slight crisp Decor is 50’s diner style , staff polite, friendly but not to much. Agreed we would return one day

Awesome meal at James Bay Floyd’s Diner. Kevin was engaging and lots of fun with plenty of recommendations. He and all the staff checked on us often and topped up the coffee. Food was tasty. There was little wait for a table and for the food but we came by early when it was relatively quiet. Where we were seated had movie posters from the 80s, very chill and relaxed. Thanks Kevin!
