Fountain Restaurant

I am writing this review because I am extremely disappointed in how the staff handled their mistake with my takeout order today. After picking up my order from the restaurant and driving back home to eat, I realized that they gave me the wrong dish for one of the items that I ordered (gave me beef and broccoli instead of ginger fried beef). So I call them to see what can be done, and I am told that I can come back and pickup the right dish in 20 minutes. So now I drive back to the restaurant to pickup the dish that I originally ordered.. only to be told once I get there that I can NOT take it because I didn’t bring back the other dish…. The wrong dish... why in the world would I have brought it back? It’s been opened inside of my house,, what do they want it for? If I had been instructed to bring it back over the phone, I happily would have done so - I was not going to eat it either way because I don’t like that beef order. Plain and simple. So now I am leaving empty handed, the food that’s still at home will have to be reheated by now, and I’ve wasted 45 minutes of my night driving back and forth to this place. All for nothing but frustration and a terrible taste in my mouth after going back and fourth with the lady at the front. I am extremely disappointed in how they have handled this matter at Fountain. Safe to say I will never eat here again after this treatment. And while I’m at it, the three dishes that we DID actually order were not good. The chow mein was way too hard and tasted off. The rice from the “chefs special” was way too mushy, and the lemon chicken was overcooked. Don’t waste your time and money on this place. Terrible service and even worse food.

I placed an order for delivery, And my home was exactly 10 minutes away from the restaurant. When the food arrived, I took a couple bites and discovered that the food was old and stale, and tasted like reheated microwaved leftovers. I had ordered from this location for the past nine years And had never had this low calibre of poor quality service before. I’m very disappointed with the entire experience

I am absolutely disgusted by the revolting treatment my friends and I received at this restaurant. We were three females of Indian origin who needed to use the restroom. When we politely asked the lady at the reception, she rudely responded that the washrooms were only for customers. We even offered to order sushi to meet their “customers only” policy, but she shot back in an extremely disrespectful tone that it was a Chinese restaurant and then demanded that we leave.

Her entire attitude reeked of arrogance and racism, making it painfully clear that we were being singled out because of our ethnicity. This wasn’t just bad service—it was an unapologetic display of discrimination that left us feeling humiliated and furious.

I strongly advise everyone to avoid this place. It is horrifying that such blatant racism is still being tolerated. The management needs to wake up and take responsibility, or they will continue to support this disgusting behavior. We were treated with pure disdain, and it was absolutely unacceptable.

I had a deeply upsetting experience at this restaurant when visiting with a group of six friends, all of us of Indian origin, including three female friends who needed to use the washroom. After politely asking the staff, we were met with rude and dismissive behavior that seemed entirely based on racial prejudice.

It’s hard to believe that in 2024, a public place can exhibit such discriminatory attitudes simply over the use of a washroom. The staff’s actions made our entire group feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, which is completely unacceptable.

I strongly urge the management to address this serious issue and train their staff in basic respect and equality. This kind of discriminatory treatment is not something anyone should have to face, and I won’t be returning. I

This restaurant is only for Chinese
We were 6 Indian people and 3 of us were permanent resident of canada and we wanted to use the washroom first and then we wanted to dine in but they didn’t allow us. When we asked politely can we use the washroom the employee at front shouted at us and said this is Chinese restaurant only Chinese people allowed in this restaurant.

Zero stars. They do not know how to handle ANY online orders. I called several times before writing a negative review. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BRINGING YOUR HARD EARNED MONIES ESLWARE! Zero answers made upon several phone-calls. VERY INEPT. That's to say the very least! Don't waste you time or hard earned money with this company!!

The cooks are good at what they do. We took our 4 pound rock cod in for them to prep and they made a delicious soup and fish stir fry. Taste didn’t disappoint. Service fee was $25 per plate. So make sure you ask before bringing your fish. Hanna chicken was good. Vegetable was cooked well and fresh. Pleasant surprise for two table of 9.

It was my first time ordering from Fountain. Never again. We ordered five distinct dishes and I can't say I liked a single one of them. Everything was way over cooked. To the point that it ruined the flavours of the food. I could barely gag it down. So disappointing. What a waste of $100.

Long story short.
Incredibly high salt.
Sauce was more liquid the sauce(sweet and sour pork)
Pork was over faltered and the batter too hard.
Chicken in the chop suey was wet on the out side and dry when bitten into.
Squid tasted like eggs, smelled like fish though.
Prawn and scallop dumplings were gummy.
Enjoyed the spring rolls, a bit wet but good still.(high grease)
Overall, difficult to eat.
Servers were very kind and kept the waters full.
