We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our visit to Four Mile Brew Pub. The atmosphere and decor is great. The food and drink were excellent. We loved the poutine and the tacos. We were a little confused when we first walked up about where we were supposed to go as it's split into different areas.

We were looking for a place that served french onion soup and thought we would give four mile a try. It was busy which is usually a sign that the food is good, this was not the case. We ordered the soup (obviously) and also order the scotch egg platter. The soup lacked flavour, way too much onion but a perfect bread amount; the chef needs to watch some YouTube videos on how to properly make french onion soup. The platter for $22 was a huge disappointment and definitely not worth the price. Will never go here again.

Enjoyable experience with a patient waitress as we took our time over a birthday meal. Food was served quickly and of good quality. Restaurant side was a great choice for conversing as it is quieter than the pub side.

The Four Mile is a true Westshore landmark — from family wing nights to summer pints on the patio, it’s been a staple for decades. The building, the gardens, the atmosphere — it all shines from the ground and even more from above. Grateful to have this spot in the community and excited to share some aerial shots that show just how beautiful it is. 5 stars all the way.

Good food. Good beer. Good location. Can’t ever go wrong with a historic neighbourhood pub that brews their own beer.

I am new to the island, and I have tried out many pubs… this is BY FAR My fave. Such great staff, genuinely friendly atmosphere, great food, not “typical pub food”, and such an amazing craft beer selection. Server Kelly was so friendly and accommodating .. will be back !!!

I'll get the negatives out of the way first.
The portion size of the fish and chips was pretty small, not what I would consider an adult portion, small piece of fish and a handful of fries. Shouldn't be still hungry after fish and chips and I am not a big guy.
The tip option on the card machine started at 18%, normally I tip 15% for satisfactory service but in this case I just put in a dollar amount which I won't specify on here but after doing the math it was less than 15% which is unfortunate for the staff as they deserved a 15% tip as I felt they done a good job.
Positives were that the quality of the food was good, service was good and the restaurant is nice with a pleasant atmosphere.

Their beef dip is one of the best in Victoria. Really enjoyed the Rueben sandwich, and the roast beef dinner special on Sundays is great.
Not a beer drinker, but my friend loves the Brothel Brown Ale.

A favourite of ours when we’re in town to visit our son. Love the atmosphere. Great drinks, food and service.

Two of us had fish tacos which were tasteless and dry. More batter than fish. My husband had a burger and fries, he said that it good but a little dry but the fries were great. Our friend had yorkshire puddings with roast beef. The portion was Hugh and she said it was really good. We complained about the fish tacos and they gave us 25% discount.

I had to adjust my review due to the change in food quality. The chicken wings are way smaller , less juicy and I can’t recommend them anymore. The onion rings are gone now as well. I would rather pay more for better quality. It sucks because I recommended them to friends all the time, I can’t anymore.

We go at least twice a week

Edit:
Thank you for replying 🙏. I’ll go back soon to review again

We've been coming here for years and would've been considered regulars at one point, but then the fire, covid and it never seemed to recover. So when the new wings were advertised it seemed like a great opportunity to dive back in. The first three visits were great, I even told the server they were the best wings I'd ever had, unfortunately the next three visits were terrible. Tonight after starving myself in great anticipation of wing night all afternoon, we ordered a couple pints and two pounds of wings. 45 minutes later someone from the kitchen informed us the order got messed up (fine, it happens) and they were making them now. 5 minutes later our server comes and apologizes and adds they ran out of breading so they'd be naked and is that ok (weird, but we're invested now so ok I guess so). Another 10 minutes and out come 9 naked barely there wings the size of my thumb x 2 plates, so about $1.33/wing on wing night. Politely mentioned this on the quality check several minutes later and our server seemed surprised, especially since they were unbreaded she said there shouldve been more than the typical dozen-ish to make up the pound. Another 10 minutes later and we got 6 more tiny naked wings. A buck a naked wing the size of my thumb, Nothing comped, sort of an apology. I get things go wrong, that's fine, but it's just been so disappointing to strike out three times in a row all for slightly different reasons after looking forward to it all day and especially after fond memories of what used to be the best happy hour on the island. I think that's the nail in the coffin for us here, which is a shame because it's our favorite beer - so worth noting that, despite being out of coffee lager tonight the beers they did have were great as always.

Charming decor in the dining room. Very British feel to it.
The servers were very nice and also attentive.
Food was satisfactory and very filling. I had the small Yorkshire pudding stuffed with roast beef.

This used to be one our favourite pubs for a quick bite, with great beer and great food. Unfortunately over the last few months the quality of the food has dropped dramatically. While it used to be fresh tasting, it all tastes like it came straight from the freezer. Everything is over battered and often over cooked. The wings don't come with dip (which should never be an upcharge), and are covered in a thick coating of batter.
I keep thinking we've just hit them on a bad night, but bad nights shouldn't happen this often. Sorry 4 mile...you've been removed from the rotation
