A great location, and delicious food! Seemed to be busy (but no wait) with only one server in the back room, a nice lady.

Been coming here for near 25 years. Loved it before the expansion, loved it after the expansion. The staff are tenured and loyal and really provide the cheers like atmosphere you would expect from a local pub. Food is so so, pretty much what you expect from any kind of British pub, pretty small menu. I don't go to eat, I go for the shafts and The beer list. They got a great value. Happy hour menu and a pretty decent late night menu too. Lots of regulars here, lots of tourists being on government street. Overall fantastic pub!!

Went into Garricks around 4:30 PM on a Saturday with a group of seven (all 21/22 years old) for a friend’s birthday pub crawl. We were polite and just wanted one quick drink before heading to the next stop (which we told the servers). The place is seat-yourself, so while we were standing by the bar deciding where to sit, a brown-haired server told us it was “about to get busy because of the Blue Jays game,” making it seem like we shouldn’t sit. We then overheard her tell another (blonde-haired) server that she “didn’t have time to deal with us.”
After that, we found our own seating but had to split up since it was relatively busy and we were a large group. The blonde server eventually served us, but it took a while. We tried to order single Long Islands ($5 for happy hour) and were told we could only get doubles because the mix was out — which didn’t make sense. We switched to single rum and cokes ($5 on happy hour) but were charged $8 each.
Neither server said hi, thank you, or introduced themselves (which is why there are no names in this review). We were friendly and respectful, but the staff made us feel like we were a bother. Really disappointing experience — won’t be coming back.

Fun atmosphere
Excellent beer selection and good burger. The service was great as well. Our server, Vanessa, was amazing!

Way too loud. Couldn't have a conversation there without yelling. Not my kind of place.

Amazing selection, beautiful location and great service
The pub clearly has a pest problem. We observed a rat near the washroom, which is oddly fitting with the pub's English style. As for the beverages, they're priced starting at $8, but unfortunately, they leave much to be desired in quality.

This place strikes a perfect balance between dive and pretentious. Bartenders are great, terrific beer selection.

Great service and bartenders. Wonderful experience talking with the locals there. Wide range of beers to explore. Must visit!
Great beer selection, great food; get the pork belly
A proper English pub in the guts of Victoria! Had to enjoy a couple pints and some fish and chips and both hit the spot! Great portions and friendly staff as well. Great spot!

Really cool spot in the heart of Victoria. Prices are a bit high but the location is likely the cause. The chicken tenders, the chicken pot pie and the poutine fries were all amazing! The beer delicious as well! The reason I only gave 4 is because my burger was awful - way over cooked (well past well done) and it was SO SALTY. Loved most of what we had, we would return. Great service, cool vibe, awesome beer selection.
