Health Essentials has been a staple for me and my wife for many years. So much so that we continue to make our orders online now that we live over 8 hours away.
The owners are two of the most amazing people we’ve ever met and their staff has always been tremendous. The in store atmosphere is wonderful and the products are always well vetted.
And perhaps most importantly for me, they are one of the only retailers in BC that sell barefoot shoes and sandals. Lem’s and Luna’s have changed my life and it’s thanks to Health Essentials I ever found them.
Anyone living in Victoria interested in health lifestyle, nutrition and supplementation should make this their new favourite store.

What a hidden gem of a health store! They offer a good variety of health and nutritional supplements and some healthful grocery options, but not fresh produce. They sell frozen bison and other unusual meats.
There is a great book section and other various products such as diffusers and salt lights among other interesting items.
They have an amazing selection of quality barefoot footwear. There is also a small but quality selection of outerwear hoodies and jackets, as well as a variety of other natural fabric clothing options like t-shirts, tops and bottoms.
Well worth checking out this shop.. I only wish I had discovered it years ago!

A wonderful shop that offers far more than may be expected at first glance. I’ve always had a nice experience with friendly helpful staff. The best stop in Victoria for minimal footwear like Luna Sandals, Vivo, and Lems. I love these great local shops. Go give them a visit!
