The food is fantastic, the wait of 30 minutes in a very quiet restaurant was not. Waiting to be seated but then then asked to order at the counter makes little sense. The staff member with braided hair on Sunday 30th November does not want to be there, was very slow to greet us, spoke to us in a mumbling teenage voice and we watched them clear 2 tables as slow and inefficiently as possible as they barely pick up their feet and made trips to the kitchen without an purpose. I suspect they are a relative of the company with that performance. They are damaging to the business that would otherwise be amazing

I love the food here and I will keep coming back. But the way they’ve structured seating and ordering is confusing every time I’ve come. It’s a nice restaurant and they expect you to sit and then come up to the till and wait in sometimes a long line to order. They desperately need table service. The quality of the food and the atmosphere begs for it.

Service really great. Veggie patty is quite dry and stale - takes a while to heat up if you’re in a rush. Looks like a great place to sit down.

It was my first visit with my girlfriends, and we were all impressed! House of Boateng Café is a true gem—fresh, creative food, excellent coffee, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive, the prices are very reasonable, and there’s free parking in the back which makes the visit even easier. We’ll definitely be returning!

The eggs were cooked perfectly and the home fries were really tasty, but that is about it, unfortunately. Given the hype this place gets, the overall experience was surprisingly lacklustre. The menu is overcomplicated and as a result, potentially exciting flavours don't get enough room to shine. The harissa hollandaise was completely overpowered by the abundance of the smoked salmon on my benny, for example. Additionally, the crispy rice base for the benny was fixing something that was not broken - the English muffin was replaced by something dense and bland.

Breakfast fusion is nothing new and it is tricky to get right. I think it could have been done better here.

Lastly, the service was quite bad, to be honest. I hate saying that, but our server really didn't seem like they wanted to be there. Curt, not very helpful and just overall not a good vibe.

At least the colour of the walls was cool.

Been on my list for a long time and glad I finally pulled the trigger.

Nice space usually quite busy when I walk by so I decided to come just after open on a Sunday it was nice quiet and clam although it was becoming busy just as we left.

Atmosphere is nice very plain and simple not over designed and bougie but not lawn furniture either.

Staff was super friendly and pleasant.

Food the most important part.
Hot smoked salmon Benny was what I ordered and it was delicious, it was very filling and the flavours were rich bold and complicated.
Even the way they make their potato hash was a little different than similar breakfasts restaurants nearby and in my opinion better.
My wife got the banana bread French toast which was sweet rich and bold.
Over all an absolute knockout. I can possibly see picky eaters being scared off by a lot of the menu but it does have one or more Midwestern palette approved items.

Coffee
It’s good no complaints at all.

Overall a great spot highly recommend.

This was a great little brunch spot to hit that was near where my family was staying. We had a long wait for a table, even though we anticipated that and showed up early. There was insufficient space to wait for a table, and very few places to sit while you waited. They chased us off of the few places to sit so they could accommodate more patrons. Not a huge deal - it did give our party an opportunity to visit more and peruse the menu while we waited.

Eventually we were seated at a table at one end of the plastic-enclosed patio, under the only heater that didn't work. To compensate, they handed out fleece blankets, which were very welcome.

The food was quite excellent, when we eventually got to it. I tried the salmon benny, which was quite a bit different than I expected. I expected smoked salmon (like lox) and it was cooked salmon instead. I did understand it was going to be on some sort of rice cake, rather than an English muffin or bun. It was tasty, but not what I'd go for again. My partner fared far better with the huevos rancheros, which was excellent. Everyone else in our party seemed happy with their choices. My kids split a large waffles entree.

I'd eat here again, as the food was great, but I'd try to go at a less busy time, if possible.

$70 for two meals and two teas for breakfast. They do not do table service. You have to order like a regular coffee shop at the till and it’s attached to your table number. You can’t charge restaurant prices and run with a coffee shop level of staff. It’s not professional.

Went for lunch/brunch last weekend and was very underwhelmed with the experience. While my meal was fine, my friends meals were both very dry with little to no seasoning. We also found that the service quality was poor. At no point during our hour sitting did a staff member come to fill up water or ask if we needed anything.
