Island Poké (Downtown Victoria)

We were a big group and some of us ordered ahead. I chose the the Island Bowl with brown rice because it come with 2 kinds of tuna and the topping choices are set. The serving size was generous and included half a perfectly ripened avocado. I really enjoyed the mix of textures with the soft avocado and tuna, chewy rice and crunchy radish and fried onion so good!

It's not a huge space and our group pushed most of the table together, but the relaxed atmosphere helped it all work out for a group lunch.

Best poke in town! I’ve tried them all, and island poke remains at the top👏

I’ve been ordering from Island Poke regularly for years and have always enjoyed their food—until now. My most recent order through Skip was abruptly canceled without notice, leaving me waiting and wondering what happened.

When I called the restaurant, they claimed to have no record of the order and said they wouldn’t have canceled it. Skip then told me the restaurant had canceled but couldn’t say why. Only after digging further did I get an email saying it was because I asked for double seaweed salad as my fifth topping, which apparently now costs $3 extra.

Here’s the kicker:

I only selected four toppings, and asked for double seaweed salad in the notes (as I’ve done in past orders without issue).

Rather than calling or messaging me through the app (which they absolutely could have done), they just canceled the order entirely.

No warning, no courtesy, no attempt to resolve—just silence.

A $3 upcharge is fine if you communicate it upfront. Canceling a regular customer’s order over a topping is ridiculous. At the very least, show some professionalism and reach out.

Everything was incredibly fresh, and the staff were super friendly!
You can really taste the quality of each ingredient — crisp veggies, perfectly seasoned proteins, and vibrant flavors all around. The team made the experience even better with their warm and welcoming attitude. Definitely my go-to poke spot!

Did an order online w/ uber eats, I was charged for extra items. Called the store that recognized that I was charged for NO reason and they will call to change that. I receive a call back from the store just to tell me that I would have to deal w/ that myself because they could archived any resolution w/ uber. I tried uber chat for almost 40min and they denied to help me saying that the extra charge was ok. For topping I had 4 of 5 items and for garnish I had 2 or 4. Above that, my order came w/ salad that I didn’t order, barely any Salmon (you can choose 2 ptn, I choose 2 time salmon). Almost $25,00 for such a disappointment.

Might be the best thing I've ever eaten. Was so good! Paid extra for the Ahi Tuna and it was well worth it. Delicious!

I think this is hands down the best Poke. Great portions, perfect amount of options and protein. I had the island house bowl and it was perfect as is.

The food was delicious and healthy, and the environment was great! However, the service was average and indifferent.
