Russ, you and your family were so very dear to my grandmother Laura Murphy. She ate with you guys weekly if not daily. She would go back and visit all your cooks and knew all of your staff by name and loved you all so much. And I’m pretty sure my daughter MackenZie spent her first year there every week. I want you to know how much you all meant to my grandmother for so very long and how much your restaurant was such a huge part of our lives and I’m so sad to see you guys closing. My grandmother passed away July 19, 2001 and I’m sad to see you closing as I had hoped to bring Mackenzie there to share a piece of her grandmothers history. Mackenzie is nearly 21 now. Sending all my love. We will miss you guys so much. Thank you for all the beautiful memories.

A wonderful family eatery with moderate food prices. This place should be compared in the light of what it is - an old eatery serving decent food with a big menu targeting a family or seniors clientele. It is what it is - and there are many of these types of restaurants across Canada and the US, nothing fancy, nothing original but you can get a decent sized portion meal at a good price in a diner atmosphere. No pretentious people here, just older friendly servers ready to bring you what you want. I hope these places never die and we are stuck with only glitzy gimmicks and food that was only made to look at. Simple is sometimes all you want - and definitely all you need. M

Horrible customer service, we were waiting in line for almost half an hour, no staff came and talked to anyone and when we finally got to the front we were told it was reservations only. There was no sign that said this fact which means there was no way to know this. Obviously do not care about customers. It would be so easy to have a sign that indicated this fact so people like us with little kids would not have waited with hungry kids.

Very nice family restaurant. We went for the Sunday brunch with about 15 folks from our church. The food was good. The beets could use some help. Nice dessert selection. Yummy trifle. The staff were keen to see we had an enjoyable time.
Went in for breakfast with the family. No wait, food was amazing and great value as well. Host was superb as well.

Not sure why people like the food here, when we ate here, the food taste bland and devoid of seasonings and spices. JJM would decidedly need a new cook, as the current cook is a disaster to the well being of the restaurant.

As a semi-regular visitor to Victoria, I can't help but wonder: why didn't it occur to me to eat here sooner? I remember seeing it from the road many times. I encourage everybody to eat here.
