My husband and I visited this restaurant for lunch today. Everything was going normally until my husband asked for a straw for me. Instead of responding, the staff member just said, “Huh?” and then walked away behind me (as my husband and I were sitting across from each other). As she walked away, she mumbled something under her breath and had an annoyed expression, as if she was complaining about my husband.
About 5 minutes later, when I was almost done with my meal, she came back, angrily placed two straws on the table, and walked away. What on earth was that about? We have no idea what just happened. The staff here are extremely unprofessional (most of them) and have a terrible attitude. I don’t want to use harsh words, but this behavior was unacceptable. We were paying customers, not beggars.
To make things even worse, shortly after, a Western mother and child arrived, and that same staff member was suddenly very friendly towards them. Is this because I am Asian? She is Asian too.
I’ve had frustrating experiences before, but I have never encountered such an unprofessional and rude server. Needless to say, I couldn’t enjoy my meal at all. I have been to this restaurant a few times before, but this will be my last visit.
In my 25+ years, I have never left a review for any business, but this experience was unacceptable enough to make me do so.

You do not know how to make Beef Onion Ginger! It was so bad, that you need to take it off your menu. I'm so serious about this. If you read this, Do not order anything from a Chinese restaurant if they can't make a proper beef ginger hot pot. Just pure laziness in the kitchen.

The food is fine, but all the staff here are unbelievably rude. This is the third time they’ve had an attitude with us. I have eaten here three times, and not once have I felt respected.

I usually like to go there for tea and meals, especially their lobster and BC crab 🦀. The seafood is fresh and delicious, and the staff’s service attitude is friendly and highly recommended‼ ️

Good experience. The dim sum was great, the other Chinese food was mediocre. It feels like China in terms of restaurant decor and ambiance, and the service is fast.

It’s a great place for Chinese food in Victoria, the menu is pretty decent not very exclusive but good choice of dimsum too. Service was quick and reasonable price as well.

‘Tis difficult dim sum’ing solo because there’s only so much room in my stomach, but now I have leftovers.
Their har gaw is the best because of all the shrimp stuffed in it. Appreciated how they made shoo mai fresh for me and put up with my Chin-glish.

Absolutely a terrible terrible experience. We have tried Jade before and didn’t really like it but thought we’d try again and it was worse this time. The service was absolutely terrible. We asked for water never got it so we got up and got it ourselves. We asked for a fork never got it so got up and got it ourselves. The dim sum trays didn’t have much selection on them. The food was tasty the atmosphere the staff the service was absolutely terrible. We will never go back again.

Very good flavours. Bring friends and make sure you have some time to nap after your meal. Best hours are around 11:15-12:15. After that, you get leftovers.

My first dim sum experience! Staff was very sweet and attentive, even when they were busy. So many food options, I loved trying out all the things Id never seen before. The sweet bao bun was my favourite, along with the soup dumplings. Affordable too, only around $50 for my friend and I's breakfast, and we had food to take home! (I think we got around 6 steamers of stuff). Only thing I didnt like was the atmosphere, very hot, and no windows, so they always have loud fans blowing, and I wouldnt have been able to stay in there for more than an hour, as it felt so stuffy. Other than that, great place!

Good quality on foods, ok service. However, when we asked to separate the bills, the lady did so but rounded the bills up, should be $31.6 pre person, she clicked the machine as $32 and placed 20% tip by herself. Tbh I’m ok with extra 40 cents and 20% tip because I do understand we have 5 people. But I really don’t feel comfortable without any notice to do this.

If I could give zero stars, I would.
There was a hair on my plate before I even started eating. I could have ignored that, but the servers kept forcing food we didn’t want onto our table from the cart, which was incredibly disruptive.
The way they cleaned the tables next to us felt chaotic, as if they were purposely throwing glass plates, teacups, and other items to see who could make the most noise.
When I went to pay my bill, I noticed the cashier pressed a 20% tip option without my consent.
Please stop taking advantage of your customers. If you want to earn tips, do better—be cleaner and more attentive to your guests.
I will NEVER come back to this restaurant. There are far better places to eat than here.
