Had empanadas and they were so incredibly good that we got 2 each. I’m celiac and I haven’t had empanadas since I was a kid in Mexico. I was so shocked that these were Glutej Free! They were so crispy and crunchy on the outside with the most delicious tender and juicy filling with melty cheese. You can tell a lot of care and love goes into everything they prepare and assemble. I will definitely come back and recommend. (Plus the owners are fabulous and kind!) My go to place for Mexican goods and snacks from now on! ??

The owner was so welcoming and friendly. I got a beef burrito which was HUGE. I asked for avocado in it and he said they'd have to open one and see if they were good because some were brown earlier in the day, which was very reassuring knowing he only wanted to serve quality food. The burrito was full of flavour and well worth what I paid. I will definitely be back.

I remember long ago when Ricardo and his family owned a restaurant in Esquimalt- it was my favourite place to eat! I am so glad to see that La Tortilla Mexicana has stayed on the island and the food continues to be made, because it is the best Mexican cuisine I have ever eaten.
