How do I give 6-stars?! Absolutely amazing experience. We had the pasta tasting menu and wine pairing. Courses all through were a tasteful & artistic display of flavours! Each plate was presented beautifully, well explained, and so very unique! One of our servers (Heather) made the mascarpone cheese that went into the tiramisu! Quite possibly the best meal I’ve ever had.

I can’t believe I’m just now getting around to writing this. We visited Lumache for my wife’s birthday, and it was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish.
We opted for the tasting menu, which was thoughtful, unique, and deeply flavorful. From the opening appetizers to the series of pasta dishes, every plate was as beautiful as it was delicious. Sitting at the Chef’s Table was nice, getting to watch the team work their magic adds a fun layer to the meal.
The beverage menu is equally impressive; my wife enjoyed a great non-alcoholic option, while I moved from a perfectly balanced Negroni to a crisp orange wine, finishing with a bold red. Even the dessert was a standout. The tasting menu structure reminded us of Magari by Oca on Commercial Drive, but we both agreed that Lumache was even better. The intimate space and attentive service are such a vibe. We can’t wait to be back.
Pretentious as hell, small plates of food. Even the fancy spots like marilena put complementary bread on the table, Lumache does not. If you don’t get the 90 dollar tasting menu you’re treated worse. All while you’re eating in the dining room the size of a storage closet. Shut er down!

Last night a friend and I dined at Lumache for the first time. It was wonderful. I’m a very discerning “foodie” and it exceeded my expectations. Every course of the tasting menu was beautifully presented and the array of flavours were delicious. We opted for the wine pairings, which did not disappoint. The staff were classy, pleasant and gave us just the right amount of attention. Although the restaurant is tiny, the bar seating didn’t feel cramped and offered a nice view of the talented chef at work. My only critique is I think the tall candles on the bar could be a fire hazard. Thank you Lumache, we can’t wait to come back!

I emailed lumache back in December with an unusual request, my friend's father has passed away unexpectedly and we were in the process of packing up his estate. His father was known for his home made lasagna when entertaining, and what better way to fill a few mourning stomachs than with the man's favorite dish.
James and Heather got back to me immediately and allowed me to pick up lasagnas during their prep hours before service (incredibly kind) we followed the instructions and we had the best lasagna we've ever tasted and it helped lift our spirits after a very long difficult day.
I havnt been able to dine in yet, but have a reso next month.
Can't wait for the full experience of slow northern Italian inspired food in that beautifully painted intimate space.
Any city would be blessed to have business owners and chefs like James and Heather of Lumache, but I'm very glad they are here on the west coast on Canada.

Perfect alchemy for a second date: we sat at the bar for the tasting menu + wine pairings so they took incredible care of us. Gorgeous, intimate room and incredibly warm service - I’m still thinking about that egg yolk raviolo. Absolute hilight of my weekend in Victoria. What a delight! Third date guaranteed.
