We visited Mango Thai for lunch today and once again, were thrilled with the food and experience. Nestled up in the Millstream mall area, owners Frank and Chef Ann always offer exceptional service and Thai flavours that are the best in the Westshore and Victoria. We have sampled many menu items (lunch and dinner) and they are all so consistently good it is hard to choose a favourite.
Today, we had the vegetarian pad Thai, and the Mango Thai Noodle soup that were served with a small salad or spring roll. Generous potions and the food came out quickly and hot. Both meals were delicious! Frank and Ann really make the effort every time we come to ensure our meals are exactly what we hoped for. It was!
Vegetarian options: I asked them to leave out the egg in the Tofu Pad Thai and there was no hesitation about leaving it out. Their menu references that most items can be made vegetarian.

I came in the restaurant to order my food. I had to only wait around 25mins. The vibe in the restaurant was very calm. The smell and taste of the food was incredible. I still had leftover for another meal. I highly recommend.

Not happy with the restaurant. We had called in advance to make sure they could make their red curry vegan as I had called multiple other Thai restaurants in the area that couldn't but they said they could. That was the only reason we went here. They said everything is made from scratch and they could help.
We get there and I order the red curry and the waiter comes back to tell me it is not vegan and says that there's nothing they can do and they only have one dish I can eat and it's the one I didn't want. I mentioned that we had called in advance and were told they made everything from scratch and they could make it vegan. I didn't get an apology or anything. I just got a shrug from him and him saying that there's nothing he can do, that this is my only option.
If they were honest with us on the phone, We would have gone to one of the other places because they had multiple vegan options where this restaurant only had the one.
At that point I was annoyed and hungry and against my better judgment we stayed and I ordered the dish. It was the yellow curry. He asked if we had any allergies and I said not that I'm aware of and he laughed and said well I guess we'll find out. I didn't find this funny at all. There's a reason why I need to know what's in my food. Certain things make me violently ill.
This dish came with a salad or a veggie spring roll. I couldn't even have their vegetable spring roll because they use chicken stock.
When the curry came out it was soup. There was no thickness to the broth whatsoever. Flavor was ok at best. Some of the vegetables, mainly the potatoes were not cooked all the way through. When the waiter came around to ask if everything was okay I mentioned that the potatoes were raw and some of the other vegetables were undercooked (I left them on the plate) and he said, yeah sorry.
At this point, I just wanted my bill and wanted to leave.
My partner ordered the pad thai and it was subpar. Not worth the cost at all. I paid and left. I barely made it to my vehicle and had to immediately return to use their washroom as I started feeling sick and threw up.
I'm sure there was some cross-contamination with this dish as it made me violently ill. Very disappointed. Restaurants really need to be honest with their patrons. I am writing this one day later and I still feel sick. Unfortunately, I spent the day feeling sick.

I was excited to try tonight as we are new to town and I love Thai food.
The food tastes pretty good. If it were just based on taste I would give it a 4/5.
But the portions are ridiculous! We got 4 dishes, small rice and soup. For over $90 with tip. This would not feed my family of 4. 2 adults and young children. I totally understand grocery prices are higher and that will inflate their prices but to have such high prices and such small portions is a little much. I don't even know if it would be enough food for my husband and I alone (my husband has a good appetite!)
I would come here again if it was just me grabbing lunch but definitely not to feed a family.
May be the worst thai food i’ve ever had in my life … is this actually made by thai people? If it is.. i am very disappointed in the quality of the food. Pad thai was overcooked, flavour meh. Pineapple fried rice was undercooked, with giant chunks of vegetables… the tom yum was lacking a lot of flavour (tastes almost as if it was watered down after somebody had eaten it)

Mango Thai is the best! I was kindly greeted by a sweet server right away and was given the best service. The atmosphere was cozy and very clean. The food was delicious, I especially loved the fried wontons. I would 100% recommend to a friend!

Best secret Thai in Langford, but let's just keep it between us! Small family run place.

Really good food, but the service sets them apart! The staff are all so wonderful and accommodated a seafood and peanut allergy - the two staples in Thai food.

Friendly and attentive service, delicious food, fair pricing, and a nice place to dine. We were lucky enough to enjoy a quiet dinner in the restaurant and will very likely go back and probably order some take out in the near future.

This was the best Thai food I've ever had hands down. We ordered a couple things to share and every single dish was delicious and we ended up all leaving full, satisfied and with leftovers! Great portions, amazing service, would totally recommend this place to anyone who wants to get out for a good meal.
