Be aware, on the dine around menu the Risotto balls does not come with sauce on top, so dry dishes unfortunately, the risotto balls have a good taste do. And the Chocolate cake, it is not like describe, it is more like a soft light to taste cake with a bit of coffee flavor. But The fish is an excellent dishes š lots of flavours.
Fantastic meal! We loved our server, she had moved from Ontario four months ago, and we thought she was fantastic. Friendly and confident. The food was perfect. So good! We're getting married in July at bear Mt. And the chef came out and met us and had a chat. We were showing my parents around the venue. It was a really special night and made us feel really confident about our decision.
Noise level was loud but that was due to a large table behind us. They were playing music on their phone which was disruptive as well as someone was āattemptingā to play the piano which I thought was disrespectful to everyone in the room. Aside from that group everything was amazing. Food was great. Staff were friendly like always! I'll be back :)
Everything was perfect for our Christmas this year. The food was delicious and the staff super helpful!
My portion for the sirloin was so small. In comparison to the other person in our group that ordered the same meal was larger. We shared his with me because of the difference in size
1. After paying a reservation deposit and receiving 2 confirmation reminders that I responded to, we waited 15 minutes for our table. 2. The first contact with the server was āthe bar is backed up so it will be a wait for drinksā 3. We received the soup course but had no spoons. I eventually got up and approached a gaggle of servers but by the time the spoons came the soup was cold. 4. There was no dressing on the salad and I also had to get up to ask for it. 5. My husband asked not to have Brussels sprouts. The server said they would substitute' other vegetables. They did not. He had a noticeable lack of vegetables. 6. The menu said Brunel sprouts with bacon. There was no bacon or remote flavour of bacon. 7. There was no cranberry sauce with the turkey. When I was told they don't have cranberry sauce the server offered ketchup! 8. When the manager came over to ācheck how we were enjoying our meal' we let him know of the above issues. He took off like he was on fire. You might think he would fetch some vegetables for my husbands sad plate, but no... 9. The food was lukewarm. The gravy was some terrible glutinous slime. It was awful! We have eaten recently at both Kingfisher resort (Ocean7) and Tigh Na Mara resort (Cedars) and they were both wonderful experiences. 10. They did reduce our bill by half, but we still paid $163 for a terrible Christmas dinner.
An absolutely pleasant experience! Our server Chelsea was delightful and very attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas Eve dinner. The salad, turkey & veg was delicious! Thank you so much, and we look forward to returning soon!
We were 4 for lunch and ordered a range of items, all were excellent. Amazing setting and view. Highly recommend.
Service was not very good. Asked for a strawbtwice, from two different servers. Neither brought me one. We were not asked if we wanted drinks, when we were greeted by our server. We waited around 20mins at the end, after the server brought us a box for takeout, for our server. She finally came and asked us if we wanted anything else, we asked to order something to go and the bill. Waited another 10mins for the bill and another 10mins for her to come back with the machine. The takeout item came and was asked if we needed cutlery. We said yes. Waited another 10mins and finally decided to leave. Asked a passing waitress for cutlery when the other waitress came out and looked at us and remembered our cutlery request. Food was good. Live singer was great. Ambiance was great. Price was fair. Service needs work.
We asked for a quiet table, and they had the notes in their system, as well as providing such to us. For a resort, the food was quite good. My wife's chicken with fried polenta was very good. My tagliatelle was very tasty, but too large for me. We enjoyed dinner enough to make reservations for our last night at the resort. The staff is quite lovely also.

On arrival walking to our seats we pass the swinging door to the kitchen and it is filthy. The sever was nice and did a good job but her apron was filthy and that wasn't a good start. We payed $8 for 2 hours to park. Service was ok but not up to the standard we had expected. I would think the restaurant manage would make sure the staff was clean and uniform without stains. All and all the food was good and the setting excellent.
It's a wonderful restaurant overlook the ocean as Bear Mountain Resort is quite high up. The only unfortunate part was we visited the location during a heat wave. It was really hot. But everything else made up for it. Will return when we go back to Victoria :)
We had a wonderful time ambience food drinks all were very good. We will be back tenderloin was amazing
Knowing origin of the chef, pasta offerings including veal scallopini would be welcome. Ordered pasta special: linguine with calamari. Very disappointing. Marina sauce overpowering, calamari very "chewy" and pasta served in a blob. Guests enjoyed salmon entree. Salads and desserts excellent. Service excellent.
This was my third less than satisfactory experience at Callisto. I thought with a new chef and a new menu things might be different. I took my husband for a Fathers Day treat. For starters the salad we ordered had brown lettuce in it which they replaced with a new salad. I ordered a tenderloin steak medium well, it came well done, but tender, Buried underneath my steak were three spears of overcooked asparagus. They had the consistency of a spaghetti noodle. The broccoli spears were yellow on top indicating they were over their best before date and were so hard, they were difficult to cut, never mind eat. The stock of the broccoli was hollow so it was pretty old. My hubby ordered the special lasagna. He said it was okay but warm, not hot. They did offer us dessert but it hardly made up for the rest. Very disappointing. We won't be back again which is unfortunate as it's in a lovely setting.
