Found this ramen bar inside Hillside mall food court. Tried two kinds of ramen here. Pretty good compared to a food court stall. I like the broth is tasty and hot. Flavour is there along with good presentation. You can either dine in and sit at their booth or tables. Or take out or eat out at the food court area. Order is quite easy with the screen and payment. Enjoyed it and recommended.Parking: Big parking lot at the mall. But it can get busy with lots of traffic. Be patience and you will get a spot. Watch out for cars and pedestrians as many people coming and going.

Honestly, for a food court chain restaurant I think this place is really good and certainly a cut above other restaurants in the mayfair mall and hillside mall. Decent pricing, tasty, fast. It's a great spot for a quick lunch.

Broth was fairly tasteless and the egg on top of the ramen was cold. We ordered extra noodles and they were not cooked long enough. The chicken karrage was pre made and just dipped in a fryer.

Broth was very weak and noodle texture was off.

I really wanted to order from here until I saw a staff member leave the hillside mall public washroom and enter the kitchen without washing his hands. That should be a strict policy. Bad for business.

Tasted like the broth was made from gutter water boiled in dirty pots.

I've visited three times, and some days the taste is excellent, while other days it feels a bit heavy. The Donkotsu ramen is the best here.

The bowl was prepared well and was a large portion, however the Shoyu broth was watery and missing flavour.

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE The downtown eatery seems to have a sister location in Hillside Centre - whoohoo! The same authenticity brought to you by Japanese entrepreneurs is available here, complete with Japanese decor and NHK broadcasts on TV :). Good option when you're hankering for warm noodles in soup. === 2. FOOD The quality is just as good as that found in the downtown location, except shio ramen is not available here. I've tried the shoe and miso ramen here and it's delish as it is downtown. The $3.50 add-on sukiyaki beef on rice is good; I just wish it were bigger :)=== 3. SERVICE It's all self-serve for the most part - you're encouraged to to use a large-screen kiosk to order everything, including any customizations. The service of the food itself is relatively quick, polite, and can be in English or Japanese. While you can normally bring your dishes to the collection stations, the stone bowls from Menbow requires you to return your tray to Menbow directly. === 4. ENVIRONMENT The Hillside Centre food court offers you a lot of space for groups of any size, with or without baby strollers or wheelchairs to dine in a bright, open, relatively-modern decor. Parking is a breeze too, given the spacious parking lot outside for the mall.

Broth is bland, Chashu is dry and very thinly slice, noodle is under cooked. Really bad food. Improve it or just focus on downtown location, or it would start to affect whole brand image

I don't understand why it has so bad reviews, if it weren't for the recommendation from Japanese persons I wouldn't have tried it. I really enjoyed it, at least the tonkotsu

Probably the worst ramen I've ever had. Even my 5 years old complained that the broth was no good. There was no flavor whatsoever with the tokatsu broth and it had a weird odor to it. I'd take instant ramen over this any day.The rice bowl was delicious and satisfying. They need to just stop selling ramen and stick to selling rice bowls. The only reason this place gets 2 stars is because the rice bowls.
