Edit: Nowhere *A Restaurant has closed its doors as of May 31st. Not to worry though, a new incarnation bought to you by the current owner and master Chef is happening within weeks.
Went for their 5th birthday feast, celebrating 5 years of serving devoted followers who truly know and appreciate what No*Where and *Hanks are all about. This special event was a 6 course feast with optional wine pairings. I am firmly of the opinion that these remarkable chef's can do no wrong. I haven't missed a single feast and they have all been excellent. After I finished, I immediately wanted to 'go again' and start the feast a second time.
Additional photos added from other feats and just regular meal nights out.
Nowhere, a Restaurant: Recommended to us by Julie of Alderlea and what a serious score this was. After dining sumptuously in Vancouver for three nights (which included a Michelin 1 star restaurant and an Omakase Sushi dinner) this unadorned small restaurant off a courtyard on Douglas was a mind altering surprise. A two man operation with seating for at most two dozen, Kieth and Chase will dazzle you with an array of creativity which would seem a bargain at 3 times the price. The dishes photographed are as follows 1-Potato and smoke, unlike any potato I've ever had, 2-Summer squash, red curry and pine nuts, fresh and full of flavor, 3-Charred Sprouting Brassicas & Sweet Onion Pizza, a crust to die for and again, flavors to match, and 4- Salmon Pepperoni (an in house invention of Nowhere's that is simply beyond belief) and Sprouting Brassica Fresh Pasta. Be certain to check with Kieth as not all wines are necessarily on the menu. As casual as you can get, but appearances can be deceiving. This is the real deal. Thank You both for a wonderful evening.
This place absolutely blew our mind. Best dinner we’ve had out in 15 years! I gave the atmosphere five stars, and it was nice, but honestly the food was so amazing we could have been inside a dumpster and I would still have been in heaven! Will be going back. And back. And back again. Telling everyone we know. The owner /chef/staff should be so proud.
Thank you so much Chase for a phenomenal experience!
For those seeking haute cuisine without any pretension, look no further than Nowhere *.
Given how often they reinvent their menu, the quality and care in their craft is astonishing. Everything on the menu is a treat.
Shout-out also to Keith: the very definition of a consummate professional, he engagingly shepherded us through our meal.
A++! Highly recommended.
We did the tasting menu at Nowhere tonight and it was just fantastic. The food was all delicious, especially the sauces, and the portions were huge for a tasting menu. This is the first time we’ve ever had to take home food in a box. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable. We met chef Chase and he was so kind and wonderful. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back the next time we visit.
Very impressive, creative dishes, flavours I've never had before, plus they know which breweries to get there beer from. Excellent service and atmosphere! Check it out
Keith was great. The Wednesday night deal was spectacular. The food was excellent. The wine options were great. The whole *A restaurant family is awesome.
Will be aiming to go back ASAP.
The food was divine, and the wine pairings were all spot on. The portions were bigger than I expected. I had to take almost half of it to go. Make sure you give yourself at least 90 minutes to enjoy the experience. This isn't a rush in, rush out kind of restaurant.
Overrated is an understatement. I was baffled after reading all the glowing reviews. The food? Bland. The ambiance? Forgettable. The service? Uninspired. Honestly, I don’t understand the hype—there’s nothing rave-worthy about this place.
Came here for husband’s bd. Specifically called out in our reservation but looks like there was no notice of that. Service was too slow and honestly we had higher expectations of the food. Overall okay

With their changing menu, I couldn't order the lingcod ceviche which I really enjoyed last time. They emphasis fresh milled Vancouver Island grain pasta ?, and ingredient locally sourced from the best the island? has to offer with extensive hyper local wine ? list and cocktails?.
They won the 2022 winner of of YAM’s Best Restaurant of the year for their simple, rustic, and creative nose-to-tail food lover options.
Casual dining but prepare for slow and lacking service

This is an overlooked gem in Victoria. Really original plates (eg chocolate pasta with duck? Yum!) and such an inviting atmosphere. Meat dishes are always mouth watering (pork is always delish) and pizza is good too. Good prices. Natural wines from established wineries. We had a bday party here and the staff were more (!) than accommodating and it really made our night extra special!
Vegetarian options: Pizzas and pasta and appies

Our table had the tasting menu. We really enjoyed the experience. The broccoli and cauliflower were delicious. Salmon was on point done perfectly. Specialty cocktails were delicious
