So sad I haven’t tried this place sooner, amazing flavour, portions and service! Can’t recommend them enough- shocked to see that not every rating for them is a 5 star, I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t be!

They advertise their dishes with fufu. You do not get the fufu with your order. You are getting a small bowl of soup barely enough for one person. I payed 38$ after delivery. This place is a scam.

Jollof rice and chicken box was incredibly weak. Rice was lacking flavor & plantains were soggy. Chicken was good but only one tiny thigh was disappointing.

This is probably my new favorite spot after eating there one time lol! The venue is kind of funny, tucked into the YMCA. But I've been looking for this kind of fair for years now, ever since trying senegalese food in Philadelphia and falling in love. These folks cook Nigerian food, and it's delicious and uses a lot of the same spices, apparently. Great value, I had the chicken lunch box with jollof rice and plantains, it was extraordinarily delicious. Big fan.

I’m afraid this is just embarrassing. I thought we had it worse here in Vancouver but Victoria is suffering. I ordered Oga soup and ayamase. Please tell me why there was more dodo(plantain) in my ayamase than there was actual ayamase. Bear in mind I was not even told there would be dodo, especially when you find it hidden underneath the ayamase. Fine, I was hoping the oha soup would change my mind. Only for me to receive the most watered down soup I’ve ever received from a restaurant before. Please do better. They gave me bones for protein in my oha soup.

The food here is absolutely phenomenal! We tired the featured jollof lunch box with chicken and plantain and it was such an amazing meal. The flavours were just so delicious and well balanced, the plantain was a nice sweetness to complement the spice of the dish. I will definitely be back to have this again, and try other dishes!

Very warm and friendly service too. The food to me was like soul food, you could feel the love that went into the dish and everything was just so delicious. Fabulous food and fantastic service.

I love Nigerian food, and the food here was prepared well, and tasted good. That is the only reason that they are not receiving a 1 star review.

I have never felt so overcharged, swindled, and ripped off by a restaurant. We ordered 2 soups with swallow. One soup $32, and the other $38, plus a pop for $7. The to-go containers the soups were packaged in were only half full. To add insult to injury there was literally only 3.5 bites of meat per soup. That is not an exaggeration. For $80 I would expect at least a full bowl and enough protein to qualify as a meal. I understand that preparing these meals takes time and expertise, but the prices are absolutely ludicrous.

On top of all that the restaurants operating hours are bizarre. I hope they can figure out how to operate their business in a manner where they can provide a meal to their customers at a more reasonable price point. If they can figure out how to do that then they will get repeat customers. I can’t see myself returning until either the portions get larger or the prices get lower.

Just stopped in after the gym, let me tell you… THE BEST POST WORKOUT MEAL! This small family owned business is one of my favourites in all of Victoria, if you have some time or just wanna explore new traditional dishes stop on by. :) <3

Victoria doesn't have a lot of African food and so I wanted to try this place out. The ambiance is pretty bad being in a rec center but the food is awesome. I got the jollof rice with chicken and plantain and it was great.

Might be a bit of a lengthy review, but i only have good things to say about this place!!

Nigerian food had been on my list of international cuisine to try for the longest time. I would often see cooking videos online and always thought it looked so good, but the city i lived in before never really had much to offer. I was ecstatic to find that a Nigerian restaurant was opening here through a random instagram ad and immediately ordered their Egusi and Pounded yam and since then it has become an absolute FAV ❤️ i could go into so much detail. The heat is AMAZING (though if spicy food isn’t for you, they do have a few milder options.) and i love all the different textures you get in the soup itself and also with the variety of proteins included. Not to mention the smooth pounded yam, that always stays warm during delivery (since i mostly order via doordash or sometimes ubereats).
Their other options are amazing too. I would also recommend their Efo Riro, and of course the Jollof. I’ve yet to try their Amala & Gbegiri, but i’ve been meaning to. They occasionally also serve dishes such as Seafood okro soup, and breakfast/brunch options!

In person I’ve only been in once or twice, but every time the service has been great! The atmosphere is very friendly and casual, and the restaurant itself is located in the cafeteria at the YMCA so you could grab a bite after hitting the gym or after a class/event there ?

Dietary restrictions: Many dairy free options!

I have always loved trying new foods and getting the experience that comes with it.

I was extremely excited when I heard a new place opened up. I went there today and ordered take out and my excitement dissipated rapidly when I unboxed my new take out at home. I paid $55 dollars for a meal that quite frankly is not edible, not due to the flavouring or anything like that but the fact that the meat smelled like it was off and tasted off. I have had plenty of goat in my day, this one smelled and tastes like it had been bad for days.

I also don't understand how you can justify a $38 dollar dish as shown in the picture where you get 2 pieces of goat and what I guess you call a bowl of soups that weigh 275 grams combined. You would get more soup in any restaurant and not having spoiled food served in the dish. That absurd price for a few mouthfuls of soup anywhere is ridiculous, let alone for rotten food.

The Shawarma: not only did it not match as advertised (shown in picture) it had 2 cold, raw Frank's grocery store style weiners (hotdogs) in it, a few small pieces of chicken with twice the amount of tiny bones to choke on. I don't know what kind of Shawarma would have a European Weiner in it still cold and raw while the entire wrap is warm or how a restaurant could so utterly fail to list such a huge allergy risk on a menu item by displaying a picture of a product they aren't serving and substituting whatever that was.

I am out of words of how someone can sell this and be morally ok with it.
