Host area is a little close to the door, but our server was very nice. We had the chicken Karaage, real crab roll, tako and tomago. The flavours were fresh, and the portions were filling. Will be back!

Nubo has been a longtime favourite of mine for dine in and take out. Unfortunately my last few orders here have been lacking quality control and my most recent 100$ order of sushi was completely unacceptable. I’m not sure if this applies to in house food, but the take out order I received felt like a way to offload day old and rushed items. First of all, opening the take out box was greeted by the unmistakable day old fish smell, all of the rice was stale, the avocado was firm and rubbery, the yam tempura was crunchier on the inside than the outside, the imitation crab was incredibly dry and smelled of cat food, and fish was equally poor smelling and tasting. Ended up throwing out half this order. Extremely disappointed in a restaurant that I used to recommend to friends and family.

The food is exceptional! The price is surprisingly affordable based on the quality. Would highly recommend!

I have been here 3 times and each time has not disappointed. I am from the states and I have to say this is really good sushi. I have only had the sushi and I have not had the rest of the fanfare so I can't say how the other food is but if the sushi is any indication that i'm sure the rest of the food is great. Also, I've had the saki and a couple of the drinks and they are excellent very good job on the bartending and the wait staff, I have not had any issues with them. They are great as well. They are nice and kind and seem to have fun with their job.

Had a good experience at Nubo! I ordered the katsu don and it was super tasty - crispy, flavourful, and comforting. I also tried the Midnight Tokyo Roll, which was nice and fresh. Not pictured, but I also tried the tempura which was light, and crispy. The atmosphere was nice, clean, and modern. The service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!!

Nubo, not Nobu haha. It’s my dinner in Victoria with my aunt and I ate so much (I basically ate all of this). I thought the place was pretty nice; decent quality ingredients with good rice. The service is just unreasonably slow at times though.

Japa Roll (Torched) $19
Spicy tuna, prawn tempura, yam tempura, avocado, fish egg, japaño, sun-dried chilli soy sauce, buttery mayo

Cowboy Roll (Torched) $19
Beef tenderloin, yam tempura, avocado, cucumber, asparagus, Korean galbi sauce

Yam Roll $8

All the rolls ordered had yam in them; I’ve never had this before (and have only seen it in vegan sushi), but I was pleasantly surprised that yam went well with these combinations. My personal favourite here is the Cowboy Roll because I liked the beef with the Korean galbi sauce.

I also got some nigiri because I wanted to try out some local BC seafood, especially the spot prawn and wild sockeye salmon. I have to say though, that Atlantic salmon is far superior with its fat content. Sockeye salmon does look nice though with its vibrant orange colour.

Nigiri (2 Pieces Each)
- Ama Ebi (Spot Prawn) $11
- Kani (Crab) $11
- Wild Sockeye Salmon $8.50
- Hamachi Toro (Yellowtail Belly) $13

Always love eating here but as a celiac person I felt so appreciative of this extra step when getting takeout. Thank you Nubo for the yummy food and effort to make sure I’m not sick even during takeout!
