My husband ordered their Vegan chocolate Ganache Cake for my bday. It was beyond Incredible!… being able to cater to my allergies was wonderful. The best Cake I’ve ever eaten and we will be coming back every year for that cake and others . Thank you Origin Bakery :) your highly recommended.
I bought a white sourdough loaf from origin bakery yesterday and it was not fully cooked all the way through and was so tough I was not able to eat it! Most expensive bread around I would expect a better quality. I will not be buying your bread again! It's in the garbage!!!
Night service and a great variety of delicious gluten-free things!
The coffee was horrible.. like old tea. Everything else is wonderful!
I stop at Origin at least twice a week to stock up.
I felt like I was stupid for not knowing all the answers to the questions I asked and that I was an inconvenience for the person at the front. Food was delicious but it’s such a bummer how I don’t want to go again.
Food was great. Service was not, I asked a simple question and she rolled her eyes at me then rudely answered, felt stupid and like I was an inconvenience probably won’t be back
Delicious carrot cake for my Easter crowd!!
A great location to pickup gluten free load and desserts. Though it’s not ideal for someone looking for dairy free or vegan options since most products contains some form of dairy. Great selection of desserts and always a service with a smile. Would revisit the place for sure. The products are decently priced and fresh most of the times.
As a celiac who recently moved to Victoria, I was excited to try Origin Bakery. The Almond Slice and chocolate ganache cupcakes are to die for... absolutely delicious! I have enjoyed many different GF breads from independent bakeries across the country (coast to coast) and the bread here is very decent - not my favourite, but WAY better than commercial, so definitely recommend. This past weekend, with the anniversary sale, I made a large order and was thrilled with all of it with the exception of the lemon curd. I was very disappointed in that the curd was a brownish colour, rather than yellow, and had a burnt/caramelized taste along with flecks of dark brown near burnt pieces and was, in my opinion, not edible. I wrote to the bakery to ask what could be done, and the response I received was that they make it that way on purpose and that due to personal preference, no refund or a new container would be provided. Fair enough. But also good to know that I will NEVER order the lemon pie from the bakery or again order the safe lemon curd to use in my own baking. Disappointing. It has left a bad taste in my mouth - literally and figuratively.

Ordered the chocolate vegan cake and was very impressed!!! Tasted amazing. Even the non vegan guests loved it. 🙌
So much choice and so delicious! We don’t have anything like this near me so this was a huge treat!
Oh my god. Ive never had better gluten free treats. The apple tart was one of the top 10 desserts Ive ever had.
I am going to go bankrupt because of this bakery. 10/10.
The quality of Origin’s gf offerings are excellent however I’ve noticed that prices on baked goods and items are not posted anywhere. I find this very strange, presumptive, and uncomfortable as a customer. I’m willing to pay the expectedly high costs for gf foods but others might be on a tighter budget and factor price into their purchases. Until prices are clearly posted, on items or the display board, I won’t return.
This morning I purchased 4 baguettes; which I do on a weekly basis from this Origin location. When I got home I noticed that they looked different from baguettes I had purchased in the past - lighter in colour and much flatter. Before putting them in the freezer, I sliced them in half and then slit one open. The inside was gummy to touch and looked visibly undercooked.
I drove back to the store to show them the baguettes and to share my concerns. After the baker examined them, I was told while they had run out of their regular flour mix and had to use a different blend, and that the baguettes were completely / properly baked. They would not refund the product.
I have both made and bought gluten free bread for well over a decade. The baguettes I bought from Origin's this morning looked awful - flat & floppy, gummy on the inside and overall unappealing. Nothing like baguette should look. When you pay a premium price for a specialty product like a GF baguette you expect a consistent product. I left the baguettes at the store and regrettably I will no longer purchase product from this store.
