A very high end hotel such as the Empress needs a much better fine dining venue. A very average restaurant for ambience with uninspired menu, average service at best and very poor wine list which is wildly overpriced. Many better options abound in Victoria. Don't eat at the hotel!
Completely magical evening, food was delicious. Service was fantastic. Michael went above and beyond. Cannot wait to come back.
Excellent service. We ordered coffee but all they had was Americano. Our waitress went in the back to make us regular coffee!! Her efforts went way above and beyond our expectations to ensure our request was fulfilled.
The cornish game hen was great. There were limited non-fish options, but everything that passed our table smelled great 👍
Our waiter Will provided excellent insight into the dishes and wonderful recommendations for drinks. The Q never ceases to disappoint and is always a favourite when in Victoria.
We had a suburb meal after taking the suggestions from our cheerful and good-humored server. The summer rissoto with lobster tail was the best meal I've had in months.
An awesome breakfast! Delicious buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup and fresh berries. Coffee from H&C was excellent too! The service was also great!
Celebrated my wife's birthday with friends and family. Everyone loved their food, all courses. Beef tenderloin was amazing, especially with foie gras available. The signature dessert was very creative and delicious.
Q at The Empress in Victoria was a fabulous dining experience. The service was great and the food was outstanding. We would definitely return and highly recommend.
Considering the price of the menu I expected more attentive service. Water was not refilled and waiter seemed preoccupied and forget to give us new flatware when our entrees arrived.

Pacific Salmon dish was really good. Lobster and soup are too salty. Far Gior is not creamy enough to spread on the bread. The service people are wonderful!

Fantastic meal! The live acoustic music was excellent. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly.
One of the best meals we've ever had and Andrew, our server, was simply sensational. Every dish we had was perfect and the vegetarian selections were delightful.
