This restaurant (one of a kind) could be considered a destination restaurant when going to Victoria Island. I had the Tempeh Reuben (a signature sandwich) which has better “taste bud stimulation” than the cornbeef or turkey (non vegan) Reuben! The peanut/yam soup was delicious as well! Clearly, quality food!!!

We ate lunch at Rebar last Friday as part of our ritual of visiting every time we are in Victoria (since our daughter introduced us to the restaurant 15 years ago. The food was simple, yet delicious (Three Sisters Enchiladas and Vegan Reuben Sandwich). The flavours were amazing, the plates amply proportioned, and the bill very reasonable. We bemoaned our tardiness the night before as we arrived 10 minutes before closing and so ended up eating across the street at a restaurant billed to be sophisticated and high end. Despite the reputation and prices the food didn't hold a candle to Rebar and, given a choice, we would choose Rebar every time (next time we'll make sure and get there on time!)

I have been coming to the Rebar for over 20 years. It has been a constant comfort and is reliably delicious. Rebar has always been fresh and original - a true gem in this landscape of endless restaurants, that are trying to be what Rebar already is. Rebar offers something distinct. It’s one of the main things that bring us back to Victoria. We’ve heard that it may be changing and it would be a real loss. If anything, we’d love to see it re-energized. It deserves it; the concept is worth it.

When I’m craving something fresh and tasty, Rebar is my go-to spot. Their soup, made fresh in-house, and rebar salad with rosemary focaccia bread make an affordable, filling, and delicious lunch. I also love their mama’s breakfast sandwich and the lox and latkes benny. Plus, their fresh-squeezed juices are refreshing and vibrant!

We had a great dinner here, very healthy and equally delicious! The salad and soup combo was rejuvenating after a tiring day, and the pita bread with humuus was very filling and tasty. We forgot to take our bag and our server was so sweet and kind to come running outside to find us and give it back. Would definitely recommend!

Don't miss eating at Rebar if you're in Victoria! This restaurant is amazing. The food is fresh, delicious and healthy. My wife and I visit Victoria at least once a year (from Seattle) and one of the reasons is to eat at Rebar - No joke. We've just returned from 4 days and ate there every day. The servers are helpful, friendly and give the perfect level of attention. My personal favorites are the enchiladas, fish tacos, almond burger, carrot cake... but honestly, I've never had a meal that wasn't amazing and I've tried everything on the menu.

Been going for years, every time we come to Victoria. Inventive and delicious, not just for vegetarians! You'll get an incredible meal in a happy space, with delicious drinks both alcoholic and non, and yummy dessert too. AND you'll feel great when you're finished.
