I placed an order when I was really struggling but was unable to pick it up on the following Sunday
I called everyday for a week and never received a callback. I finally received an email saying my refund was on the way but was only refunded a tiny portion of what I paid
On top of that I felt judged and discriminated against when I went to pick up a previous order, the volunteer seemed to be acting like I didn’t look or seem poor enough based oh my appearance I presume . Red Cedar is a nice idea but my experiences have not been very positive. Even though I am an atheist I find that charities run by religious people show far more compassion than ones run by activists.
I order food for someone who really needs it. High praise to those who started Red Cedar Cafe and its excellent service to the public. You are heros. The food is healthy and nutritious and caters to a variety of tastes. High praise too to everyone who has carried on delivering these much needed meals to all of their grateful recipients. You are also heros who deserve much more praise. I also love you have a sliding scale so people who can afford it can donate or even order a meal themselves. The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is because ordering on line is a little too complicated. I am happy to give suggestions to improve this if asked. Currently, it is my understanding that only agencies can call in with orders. It would be nice if luddite individuals could also just phone in. When I go on holidays the fellow I help goes without meals.
Dietary restrictions: If I were to be requiring this service I would need more gluten free options.
Kid-friendliness: You help families. Bless your hearts.

It was a very charitable Jillkô⁹apple kkk
I was injured at work recently and my employer (who also provided housing accommodations) laid me off and essentially evicted me. The Red Cedar Cafe has been my saving grace, allowing me to have access to affordable (and/or free) healthy and filling meals.I recommend supporting them if you can (with money, or food donations) because they’ve got an unreal meal program that undoubtedly helps a lot of individuals and families in need. I hope to volunteer for them in the future so I can give back!
They have been a real blessing during my time of need providing beautifully prepared, healthy food on a donation basis (or even if you can't pay anything at all). WOW Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
I chose to volunteer here with my stepson to have him see and experience the incredibly wonderful help that comes out of Red Cedar Cafe. He was welcomed by the entire staff and was happy to be put to work to help prepare the nutritious meals prepared there. If you’re new to Victoria too it’s a great place to volunteer doing delivery as it teaches you the layout of the city.
Fabulous volunteers! Everyone puts in 110% all the time. Couldn't ask for a better group of people.
