I ordered the cod, salmon, and the clam chowder — and the cod was definitely the winner. I’ve honestly never had fish & chips with pieces this big and this fresh.
I waited about 20 minutes in line, but it was totally worth it. Eating hot chowder and crispy cod while standing in the chilly breeze felt like such a treat. One of those simple but perfect moments. I’d line up again for sure!

I meannnn they already have great reviews but yes, the line is worth it!!! The fish is fresh and tender and crispy, slaw is refreshing and crisp (like a lemony flavor), fries have excellent texture and crisp. We ate here twice in our 4 day visit to Victoria!!

They should be SUED for closing for the season. I spent money traveling here and expecting to eat the BEST fish and chips on the West Coast; from LA to Vancouver Island. Check seasonality BEFORE you fly.

I have been trying to taste these fish and chips since visiting Victoria for the first time. It never happened because the lineup was massive, and they would close their doors after high season.

Today, I got a humongous portion of 2 Halibut meal. It was definitely for sharing.

The fries were perfectly crispy, even when eaten 15 minutes later. The Halibut under the first one was huge, thank you for feeding us twice. I omitted the burnt 🥒 tip. It might mean something

I want to try the Clam Chowder!

One of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! The cod was sooo fresh and the portions were good. The chowder was so delicious as well and it had a spicy Thai flavour to it which I loved. The wait was about ~10 min when we went but I would it expect it to be busier on a warmer day. There’s some seating around the area as well where you can enjoy the views of the water!

Some authentic great Fish & Ships sea side.

Highlight for me was the fish taco, the food so good, the fries so crisp, the tastes and the scenery are top tier.

This place carries a hype for a good reason. Treat yourself.

Water taxi dropped us off right at the place!

What a treat this place is! A true GEM a restaurant that mimics a food truck concept except it’s on a pier off the ocean and you eat outdoors watching boats ships etc The food and the vibe was unmatched! HIGHLY recommend
