I purchased a Surprize Bag for five dollars and was absolutely thrilled to receive half a dozen raspberry danishes. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the value was incredible. Knowing that these pastries were rescued from going to waste made the experience even more satisfying.

I very much love Nanaimo bars but somehow they have changed the flavour of each layer. The bottom layer has an pungent flavour and is missing some of the ingredients. The middle, custard, layer was white and not the typical yellow colour and it did not resemble the classic flavour. It was missing the Bird’s Vanilla Flavored Custard which is truly part of the secret.
Maybe it was a new flavour profile they were going for, if true, don't call it a Nanaimo Bar
